Police and marine rescue teams have scaled back their search for a diver missing off Ledge Point. The 32 year-old snorkeler has been missing since 3 o'clock on Thursday afternoon with a massive search effort to try to find the man.

00:00Across land, sea and sky, authorities searching for more than 24 hours.
00:09A group of four friends went snorkelling. Five hours later, only three returned.
00:17During that dive, the male that's now missing has separated from his friends who'd
00:23alerted authorities once they'd come back to shore and couldn't find him.
00:26Police say the group travelled from Perth and entered the water at around 10 in the morning of New Year's Day.
00:32At 3 o'clock in the afternoon, the missing man's friends sounded the alarm.
00:36Members of the public jumping into action as deteriorating conditions made the search challenging.
00:43They were pretty rough, I reckon.

00:49Visibility was pretty poor, especially with the chop.

01:00Authorities wrapped up the search at around half past 10 Thursday night.
01:05The morning promised higher visibility with better conditions as jet skis, boats and helicopters circled the vicinity.
01:13The area is known for its cray fishing and it's a popular recreational activity.
01:19It's understood the friends were snorkeling at the reef just behind me, something several of them had done before.
01:27Police remained optimistic for much of the day.
01:30We're doing everything we can and we've got as many assets and resources out there at the moment.
