00:00when you imagine technology something like this or even this likely comes to mind however before
00:08highly sophisticated supercomputers and particle accelerators were ever conceived experts now say
00:13one of the biggest leaps forward in tech ever happened 900,000 years ago that high-tech
00:19advancement a new generation of stone tools the researchers say the evolution in stone age
00:24technology occurred in Spain the first such find of these types of implements found in Europe the
00:29researchers say this new type of tool quote demonstrates significant technological
00:33advancements and anticipatory behavior with the stone tools having a specific sequence in which
00:38they were shaped suggesting that the makers of the tools were following a shared template they
00:42also utilize more materials in their 2.0 builds like bone and wood this also shows a wild change
00:47in the culture of our ancestors at the time as previous untemplated stone tools were in use for
00:52over 2 million years prior what's interesting is that this predates the racial split between our
00:57human cousins and neanderthals meaning both groups likely used and shared them with the researchers
01:02adding these more advanced tools were better provided more utility and involve sophisticated planning and
01:08to make sure more efficient use of resources
