The setting was pure outback simplicity: a quiet main street, the occasional passing car, and a soft evening breeze rolling in across the plains. The sky, wide and endless, turned from dusty gold to deep orange, then into that unmistakable outback mauve that marks the end of another long, hot day. There’s something about this light — it doesn’t just fade, it transforms the entire landscape.

From the park across the road, the pub’s silhouette sat framed perfectly against the horizon as the day slowly handed over to night.
