00:00Ariana, Demi, Ariana and more Demi. Stay tuned.
00:07Hey guys, it's Ali for Hollywood Life with your pop star roundup starting with Demi Lovato's
00:17vote message being censored by NBC. Demi took the stage during the 2020 Billboard Music Awards to
00:24perform her anti-Trump song, Commander-in-Chief. However, the broadcast didn't air the way she
00:29originally intended it. TMZ reports at the end of Demi's performance, the word vote was
00:33displayed across the video boards, but in the version that was aired, viewers only saw
00:38a close-up of Demi and her microphone. Adding to this, a source told the site that NBC pulled
00:42the plug on Demi's vote message because the song itself is slamming Trump and the vote
00:47message seemed like a call to vote against him. But Demi isn't letting anything stop her
00:52from taking a stand and talking politics, and she applauded Taylor Swift for doing the same.
00:57In a new interview with CNN, Demi said, you're damned if you do, you're damned if you
01:01don't. You can list Taylor Swift as a perfect example of that exact saying. For years she
01:07got trashed because she wasn't talking and taking a stance and wasn't standing up for
01:11these rights, and she kind of took a back seat. Now she's become very political, and there
01:16are people that are unhappy with that too. Demi continued, it's just like you have to live
01:21what feels authentic to you. To me, that's using my platform to speak out about the things
01:27that I see are wrong. And switching gears to Ariana Grande because she is returning to
01:32acting. Ari is reportedly set to make an appearance in Adam McKay's upcoming Netflix comedy, Don't
01:37Look Up, which will also feature the likes of Leonardo DiCaprio, Meryl Streep, Jennifer
01:42Lawrence, and many more. The film is set to begin filming in Boston on November 19th. And sticking
01:47with Ari, she's got new music on the way. The pop giant teased the project with a tweet
01:53that read, I can't wait to give you my album this month. Are you excited? Because I am.
01:58And switching gears to Chaka Khan, the legendary singer did an interview with Vlad TV and revealed
02:03that there aren't any current artists that she'd like to work with. When Ariana Grande's
02:06name was mentioned, Chaka said, F her, she's alright, she's good on her own, plus I don't
02:12want to sing with another woman. I ain't got nothing to say with a woman, you say it by yourself.
02:17This is like half shade, half compliment. What do you think of Chaka's comments about
02:22Ari? Let us know down there.
02:23But okay, we've got a little bit of breaking news as Nicki Minaj seemingly confirmed the
02:28sex of her baby. On Instagram, Nicki shared a series of thank you notes from family and
02:33celeb friends, but on the last slide on the Instagram post, she showed a thank you card
02:38congratulating her on her baby boy. And it was from none other than Beyonce. So this seems
02:45to be Nicki's way of confirming she had a baby boy. Congrats to her once again.
