Health workers from Garrahan Pediatric Hospital and disability advocates gathered at Plaza de Mayo in Buenos Aires, calling on the government to include funding in the 2026 national budget for two emergency laws already approved by Congress but not yet implemented.

Under the slogan “Light up a 2026 without emergencies,” protesters held candles and warned that Garrahan Hospital — one of South America’s most vital pediatric centers — is at risk of collapse without immediate resources. Demonstrators accused President Javier Milei’s administration of delaying lifesaving measures needed to protect vulnerable patients and essential services.

This video covers the scenes from the rally, statements from organizers, and why the emergency laws on pediatric health and disability remain unfunded.

01:35to privatize the Garrahan to make their business.
01:40In our country, everything that the state holds is under a budget
01:52that is voted, and there are all the needs and all the laws
01:59that make the protection and protection for our society.
02:04Al not be in the budget, there is no money.

02:32...in the most dignified conditions.
02:35The people with discapacity, as they said a little bit to my colleague.
02:39We have fought a lot, we have fought a lot in all places,
02:42but we wanted to be alone in the Garrahan,
02:45and the children with discapacity,
02:47that they also will be allowed to make themselves atent.
02:50Would not be allowed to use their bearing bill to help Chopra,
02:53so we have that many and only people with discapacity,
02:55because the country was designed to help people...
02:56...we are not allowed to make themselves atent beyond sufficient time.
02:57We have reformated theaps with discapacity...
02:59...and we have not allowed to do that for those people.
03:00All the people who cannot do this in the world.
03:02And that is what I'm saying for people.
03:03I know it's a great way.
03:04It's the first time to make me feel that I'm not allowed to do anything.
