00:00I'm Glenn Close.
00:01And I'm Kim Kardashian, and this is our Wired Autocomplete interview.
00:08You have a tattoo?
00:09I do.
00:10You have a lip tattoo?
00:11Mm-hmm.
00:14What is Kim Kardashian's clothing line?
00:19Skims.
00:20We just launched some The Ultimate Bush, some hairy thongs that-
00:28I've always wanted a hairy thong.
00:30Oh, you'll have one today, babe.
00:31Did you know hairy thong?
00:34He was kind of cute, a little hairy.
00:36You know what's so funny?
00:37I dated a guy, his last name was Bush, and so my grandpa's name's Harry.
00:42I called my grandma when we were together, and I was like,
00:44Grandma, oh my gosh, I decided that I want to name my first son after Papa.
00:49She was like, oh my gosh, that's so sweet, almost came to tears.
00:52And then I was like, say what the name would be out loud.
00:55And she was like, Harry Bush, and I was like, it's a joke, Grandma.
01:03Okay, what is Kim Kardashian, what is Kim Kardashian color season?
01:11What does that mean?
01:13This is a way to find your color palette through the different seasons.
01:16So yours, when I looked it up, you're a deep winter.
01:19How do you know she's a deep winter?
01:20So your skin tone and hair color, what colors go best with you?
01:26Oh, I mean, neutrals? Must be. That just makes sense.
01:32I always love the word sare, like the field is sare, S-E-R-E, which means that wonderful,
01:39when everything is asleep.
01:40Mm.
01:41Yes.
01:41See, I learn something new every day from being around Glenn Close.
01:46What was Kim Kardashian for Halloween?
01:50Mm.
01:51Halloween's a big deal in our family.
01:53Last year, I was an albino alligator.
01:55I saw that.
01:56I remember that.
01:57And that was fun.
01:58How do you come up with, I want to be an albino alligator?
02:02I just loved that.
02:03I saw one on the internet, and I thought it was so cool.
02:06But we were filming.
02:07Yes.
02:07And then I left, did it until 2 in the morning, and then came to set at 6 a.m.,
02:12and I was exhausted.
02:14This year, I don't really have the energy for a whole lot.
02:16It takes a lot to be an albino alligator.
02:19What is Kim Kardashian lip tattoo?
02:23Did you think I had a tattoo?
02:25No.
02:26You have a lip tattoo?
02:27Mm-hmm.
02:30It's an infinity symbol.
02:31I did it after SNL.
02:33We were waiting for our flight.
02:36All my girlfriends, we got matching tattoos.
02:38At the airport?
02:39At the hotel.
02:39Oh.
02:40But I was, like, very against tattoos my whole life.
02:44I don't have any visible ones.
02:46Yeah.
02:48Okay.
02:49How is Glenn Close related?
02:52You're related to Princess Diana?
02:54Tell me more.
02:55Well, I think she's like my ninth cousin through a man called John Strong,
03:01who was one of the elders of the Massachusetts Bay Colony.
03:06Did you learn this on, like, a genealogy show?
03:08Yes.
03:08Or you knew this from your grandmother?
03:10No, I learned it on the genealogy show.
03:13Wow.
03:13Yeah.
03:14I love this.
03:16Why does Glenn Close wear gloves?
03:19Wouldn't you?
03:23Okay.
03:23Why is Glenn Close Tina Fey's nemesis?
03:26You are?
03:28Well, Tina and I did this ad together, and I was her nemesis in it.
03:34We all were wearing Tina Fey wigs, and I went down to Mexico
03:38and was on an Andalusian stallion and made it rear wearing a Tina Fey wig.
03:44Okay, so it's not real.
03:45It's not like you're a real nemesis.
03:47No.
03:47Okay, because I love Tina Fey.
03:49Yeah.
03:52Who does Kim Kardashian play in All's Fair?
03:55I play Allura Grant.
03:57She is kind of this badass, really tough family law attorney.
04:03Definitely tougher than me.
04:05Like, I had to be a little firmer and nastier than I typically would be.
04:10But she has a great group of friends.
04:12Dina, aka Glenn, is our mentor, and you'll have to see all that in the show.
04:18Who are Kim Kardashian's lifers?
04:23Hmm.
04:24You met them last night.
04:25It's a group of seven of us that we grew up with.
04:28They're going to freak out that this is one of the questions.
04:31Since we were in, like, preschool, kindergarten, and we're still best friends to this day.
04:37It's just so fun to have girlfriends that you've known your whole life,
04:40and just we love and support everything each other does.
04:43That's incredible.
04:44Who did Kim Kardashian help get out of jail?
04:50Probably around 65,000, 70,000 people.
04:55So I don't know if you want me to name all of them if we have the time.
04:5770,000?
04:58Yeah.
04:59Well, we got a bill passed called the First Step Act that was able to,
05:03if you qualified under that, you were able to get out.
05:07So individually, there's been a bunch, but through the bills, we've been able to get out more.
05:13Wow.
05:13Okay.
05:15Ooh, okay.
05:16Does Glenn Close speak French?
05:20I speak a little bit of French.
05:22Oh, I never knew that.
05:23So when we go to Paris, when we go to Paris next week, you'll order dinner for us, right?
05:29It's all in the present, though.
05:31I have terrible, you know, vocabularity.
05:34Okay.
05:34I have a very good accent.
05:36But I went to a school in Switzerland for two years,
05:40and every other week, you're supposed to speak French.
05:42Is this the, like, billionaire school that's of Switzerland?
05:45No, it was called St. George's.
05:48Yeah, I know those billionaire schools.
05:50It's called St. George's School in Switzerland.
05:52Miss Caldrington was the headmistress, and it was an amazing, you know, collection of girls.
06:01I love an all-girls school.
06:03Does Glenn Close sing opera?
06:06Can I answer that one?
06:07Sure.
06:08She has a great voice, and she does sing.
06:10I don't know if, like, proper opera, but I hear it.
06:13I did a movie called Meeting Venus, where I played an opera singer, and I had to learn arias.
06:19And so I did.
06:20I can't.
06:21I can't.
06:21I can't do it.
06:29Yeah.
06:30That's so amazing.
06:33I wish I could sing like that.
06:35Okay.
06:35Does Glenn Close ride horses?
06:37I do.
06:38I do ride horses.
06:40I love that.
06:42Yeah.
06:42I grew up riding little feisty Shetland ponies that when they got tired would just scrape
06:48you off on a tree and go home.
06:50It's like learning how to drive on a stick shift Volkswagen or something.
06:54I just ride for pleasure.
06:55My daughter, however, was a competitive rider, jumping fast and high.
07:00Like that.
07:02Okay.
07:04What is Kim Kardashian's morning routine?
07:08Okay, so I get up at 645, brush my teeth real quick, all that, then wake up.
07:14Usually two kids are always in my bed, and one's either on the floor or on the couch.
07:18They just love to sleep in my room, and they trade off.
07:21And then I get them ready.
07:22Always do my son's hair.
07:24Usually one of my kids can get themselves, their hair done really well.
07:28So I get two ready, they're on different campuses, so I'm talking about the little kids.
07:31Three littles, my older is on a different campus.
07:34Get in the car, mad rush, get breakfast, pack the snacks, and we're out the door.
07:38Take them to school, come back, work out at 930, and then start my day.
07:43I'm exhausted just listening to that.
07:46What's Kim Kardashian's nickname?
07:48My nieces and nephews call me Auntie Kiki, so I think that's really it, Kiki.
07:53Kiki, Khloe kind of shortened that from Kiki to Kiks.
07:57What does Kim Kardashian use for skin care?
08:00Lots of things.
08:02Right now, I have like two different routines that I like.
08:05I just went to Korea and got so much skin care, so I'm really into all the magic potions and all this.
08:11There's a brand, Medicube, that is like just revolutionary.
08:14There's also a brand in London called Karen Bartow.
08:18I actually have to get it for you, and it's really good.
08:22Okay, how long has Glenn Close been acting?
08:25Over 50 years.
08:26Wow.
08:27I'm very proud of it.
08:28Is that your longest relationship?
08:30Yes.
08:31Come on.
08:32What musicals has Glenn Close been in?
08:37Gosh, I've been in Barnum.
08:39I've been in Rex.
08:40Both of those are on Broadway.
08:42Oh, Sunset Boulevard.
08:44Was it so challenging?
08:45Yes.
08:46I've actually heard you and Sarah talk about Broadway and your love for Broadway and wanting
08:51to be on and that commitment and then all behind the scenes when we're waiting for scenes.
08:56You guys, kind of everyone, Naomi and everyone, you guys always talk about your friends that
09:00are in different Broadway shows and plays and that you want to go see and what you have seen
09:06and what's really good.
09:06So I hear you talk about it.
09:07It's basically the phenomenon of theater is it's live.
09:11Yeah.
09:11And that the audience is different every night.
09:14Yeah.
09:14And I always consider the audience my collaborator.
09:18So you have to finish.
09:19You have a performance.
09:20It's finished with the people who are there to experience the play or the musical or anything.
09:26It's phenomenal.
09:27Isn't that interesting that just the vibe can either be the best energy ever or just a night
09:33it could be off and it kind of throws you off?
09:35I was in a Tom Stoppard play once and my character was bright but not as articulate
09:41as the character that Jeremy Irons was playing.
09:43And I remember I said a line one time and I heard a woman go,
09:47and I wanted to say, excuse me, who is that?
09:50Who is that?
09:51Did you honestly hear what I said?
09:53Do you honestly, you know, it's like, you've got to just keep going.
09:57Yeah.
09:58Thrilling though, I can imagine.
09:59Yeah.
10:00Okay, Glenn Close, Kim Kardashian show.
10:03That's all it says, Glenn Close, Kim Kardashian show.
10:06It's all's fair.
10:07Yep, you have it right here.
10:08Yes, that it is.
10:09On Wired.
10:09Yeah, Google it as much as you want.
10:11I was the only one who had never done a Ryan Murphy show.
10:14I think we all signed on before we read anything.
10:17It wasn't even written, he wrote it for us.
10:20Yeah.
10:20So I have to say, 50 years an actor coming into this particular set, I was intimidated.
10:26You know, you don't know kind of the territory and the energy, the tone.
10:31And it took me a while to get acclimatized, actually.
10:34The thing that I started really loving was the connection that we all had.
10:39And it just got better and better and better as the season progressed.
10:43And it's genuine.
10:45And that to me, whether you are aware of it or not, I think you will kind of subliminally
10:51sense it when you watch the show, no matter what crazy, outrageous things are going on.
10:56I think so, too.
10:57Yeah.
10:58Fantastic.
10:59I thought that that was really fun.
11:00Yeah.
11:01I learned more about Kim.
11:02I learned so much about you.
11:04So thank you, Wired, for having us.
