00:00The last few days, the Deol family has been in the news following a health scare for Bollywood
00:06legend Dharmendra. While fans sent their prayers and wishes, it's a reminder of the incredible
00:12legacy this family has built in Indian cinema, Sunny Deol, Bobby Deol, Isha Deol, Abhai Deol
00:18and of course, Dharmendra himself. Amid all the headlines, there's a lesser-known member
00:23whose story takes a completely different path, Deepti Bhatnagar, Dharmendra's daughter-in-law.
00:30Unlike the family's film stars, Deepti stepped away from acting to pursue her passion for travel.
00:36Born in Merit, Deepti moved to Mumbai to start a handicraft business. Destiny had other plans,
00:42she was offered modeling work, won a beauty pageant at just 18, earned 1 lakh rupees within a month
00:48and bought her first home in Juhu within a year. She made her acting debut in Ram Shastra, 1995
00:56and went on to act in Telugu, Tamil and Hindi films. Deepti even made her Hollywood debut in
01:02Inferno, which also marked our Madhavan's first film. She also starred as a cop in the TV show
01:08Ye Hai Raaz. Despite opportunities, Deepti admits she was hesitant. Shah Rukh Khan trained her for
01:14Kabhi Ha Kabheena but she ran away from the screen test. After a commercial with Sunny Deol, she was asked to
01:21meet Dharmendra but was too scared at the time. Fate had other plans and she later married Randeep
01:27Arya, Dharmendra's cousin's son. They now have two sons, Shubh and Shiv. Deepti found her true calling
01:33in travel.
01:34I've traveled the world with my family. Exploring the world with them is my biggest blessing,
01:39she says. She launched her production company and created shows like Yatra and Musafir Hoon Yaro,
01:46visiting over 90 countries. Today, with 190k YouTube subscribers, Deepti continues to inspire.
