Buckle up for the wild ride that is this episode of Cosmopolitan's Group Therapy. The cast of 'I Love LA', comprised of Rachel Sennott, Josh Hutcherson, True Whitaker, Jordan Firstman, and Odessa A'zion, each take a turn in the hot seat and prove that they really are just as fun a friend group off-screen as they are on-screen. Josh opens up about post-Hunger Games boundary setting, Jordan (who you might know from his viral-worthy impressions) gets candid about some unhinged choices, True reveals there's a certain celeb they avoid acting like, and Odessa acknowledges the elephant in the room: their all white outfits could be a liability. And Rachel? The queen of unmatched energy knows that her toxic trait might also be the very reason we're all here watching Group Therapy and tuning into 'I Love LA.'

Watch 'I Love LA' now on HBO Max.

00:00Imagine if a therapist invited friends over to listen to you
00:02and then laughed, and not even at you,
00:05like just about an inside joke they were having.
00:10Time to unpack.
00:12And I mean that.
00:15Am I ready?
00:16No, but I'm going to do it.
00:19What's the strangest thing that you've ever
00:20done to get into character?
00:22Ooh, great question.
00:24I would love to know.
00:25Let's see.
00:26The year was 2020.
00:28Ooh, pandemic, pandemic.
00:30I was shooting a movie, and I came down with COVID.
00:33And so I had to be locked in the hotel room for seven days straight.
00:36So when I called down to order anything,
00:39I would just tell them that I'm an actor.
00:42I'm preparing for a role.
00:44And so one of the things I do every time I prepare for any role
00:47is I lock myself in a hotel room for seven days
00:49and never see another human.
00:51You're a pathological line.
00:52We're going to get you on a low dose of Valium.
00:56Yeah.
00:56Valium?
00:57And yeah, you should be there.
00:58Is that like the Costco version of Valium?
01:01OK, I have a question.
01:03What is a boundary you regret not setting in your career sooner?
01:08For a long time, when I did the Hunger Games,
01:12it felt like this is really like a therapy session.
01:15This is fun.
01:15Go for it.
01:16It felt like you kind of get stuck in them wanting to cast you
01:20as one type of thing.
01:22And it's not really setting a boundary.
01:23I got a boundary set on me.
01:25Oh, shit.
01:26I'm going to write that down.
01:27Turn the question around.
01:28Yeah, that's exactly.
01:29What is a boundary?
01:30What even is a boundary?
01:31Yeah.
01:32What are you?
01:33I have one follow-up.
01:34Oh.
01:35What career advice would you give to your younger self?
01:38Think of, oh my, Little Manhattan.
01:40Oh.
01:41What would you give to your Little Manhattan self?
01:43Or Bridge to Terabith?
01:44Be careful with Crafty.
01:46Oh.
01:47Oh.
01:48No, you don't have to say that to him.
01:50Let him have, let him enjoy the Crafty.
01:52Yeah, like, let him have Crafty.
01:54When I had to go to JCPenney and go shopping,
01:56I had to shop in the boys' husky section.
01:58And that was like a real hard thing.
02:00And I blame Crafty.
02:01I blame Crafty.
02:02I like it.
02:03If your life had a warning label, what would it say?
02:07I would say, do not swallow.
02:08But that's just weird and funny.
02:10What do you mean, though?
02:10I don't know.
02:11I don't know.
02:12My mind thought, like, what's a warning label look like?
02:14How about, like, best, best, best after?
02:17Best after, that's good.
02:18Because you were kind of a little reckless.
02:21Don't show me he's reckless.
02:23Best after 2017.
02:262017?
02:27When you were done with your, like, bad boy face?
02:28That recently.
02:29I feel like I grew up around then.
02:31Or started growing up.
02:35Josh Hutchison.
02:36Yeah.
02:37What is one meme of yourself you'd love to scrub
02:41from the internet?
02:42One meme I'd like to scrub?
02:44There's so many.
02:45There's a lot.
02:46What is Jordan actively making memes of Josh every day?
02:49No, this one.
02:50It's that one.
02:51That one.
02:51Oh!
02:52This one.
02:53This one?
02:54What is this one?
02:55It's like the whistle meme.
02:56This one's just like 15-year-old me trying to do a whole thing.
03:00What about?
03:01Why do we call them gay and lesbian?
03:03They're just people.
03:04I want that to live forever.
03:05When you first showed it to me on this show, I was like, oh my god.
03:08That's the follow-up question.
03:08I can't believe that exists.
03:09That's the follow-up question.
03:10The follow-up question.
03:11Which meme of yourself do you actually love?
03:12Oh.
03:14I think it's the phone lick.
03:15Because it was actually a Jamba Juice.
03:17The what?
03:17And then, like, there's like one where I'm, like, licking a phone.
03:19Wow.
03:20Oh, I've seen that one.
03:21That's really good.
03:22I think it was actually originally a Jamba Juice.
03:24I actually didn't know.
03:25Or the Jamba Juice got on my phone.
03:27No, you're licking a phone.
03:29I am licking a phone.
03:29But let me just say, before we cast you, Claire and I were like, we found that photo came
03:35up and we were like, it's him.
03:36I feel good.
03:37I think that therapy is helpful and I want to do more of it.
03:43But I like it when it's done by medical professionals.
03:46Oh my god.
03:47What the ?
03:48I have no idea what my education level is.
03:51I can assume.
03:52Oh my god.
03:53Wow.
03:54All right.
03:55I'm getting out of here.
03:56I'll go.
03:57Hey.
03:58Jord.
03:59I gotta go.
04:00OK.
04:01Jord, I'm starting.
04:02Ready?
04:03OK.
04:04Tell us about a time you didn't handle rejection gracefully.
04:09Ooh.
04:10Really good question.
04:11Wait, what?
04:12I've been rejected so many times.
04:14Love, career.
04:15As a, I mean, yeah, all of the above.
04:17Friends.
04:18So there was this one TV show that I was in development on for four years.
04:23And I got the phone call that it wasn't happening.
04:26And I was like driving into my driveway.
04:29And there was like this pole on my driveway.
04:32And I was so mad.
04:33I go, I'm just going to hit it.
04:35And I just like drove right into the pole.
04:38No.
04:39Swear on my life.
04:40Jordan.
04:41I was like, I was like it.
04:42I'm just going to hit it.
04:43And it was like enough to dent the car, but not to be in any like danger.
04:47But it felt so good.
04:49It felt good, right?
04:50OK.
04:51Who's someone you've muted on Instagram?
04:52I'm not going to be messy boots and like name names.
04:56Good call.
04:57That's crazy.
04:58No, good call.
04:59But there are a couple of gay people that know what they did.
05:05But I was actually getting the vibe that some of them had muted me before.
05:09So some of them were a retaliation mute.
05:11They were like, we don't like him anymore.
05:13So would you say you're paranoid?
05:14I don't know.
05:15I think I'm, I think I'm real.
05:16I'm a realist.
05:17I'm a realist.
05:18So Jordan, when's the last time you crashed out?
05:27One time like this grinder hookup came over.
05:30We took off our clothes.
05:31He like looked me up and down, walked out and left.
05:34No.
05:35Like literally just like didn't say anything.
05:38Are you serious?
05:39He was just like, not even a like, I'm not feeling this.
05:41Like boom, out the door.
05:43Oh my God.
05:44And I like literally like shining style.
05:47Like, like fully, like just like fell down a wall crying.
05:52It didn't feel good.
05:54That'll do it.
05:55It didn't feel good.
05:56Yeah.
05:57Only in LA really.
06:01I feel like maybe I was a little too out of pocket, so to speak.
06:06I trust everyone in this room so much.
06:08With your life?
06:09With my life.
06:10This has been a really transformative experience.
06:12I think for kind of the world.
06:14Next up.
06:15Get in there true.
06:16Uh oh.
06:17Uh oh.
06:18True, true, true.
06:22Hey boo.
06:23I was just wondering if you'd want to maybe talk about your first memory of being in the spotlight and liking it.
06:30I graduated during COVID and so I was doing my classes on Zoom and I did a musical theatre class.
06:37We were supposed to perform a song and I was like, I'm going to go first because I really just want to get this over with.
06:43And so in my head I'm like, okay musical theatre, like we need to perform this.
06:45Yeah.
06:46So I set up the computer, I put it like on a thing, like like push everything back, all the furniture and like do a full like dance and song.
06:53And then after when everyone else went, they just had the computers in their lap like just singing to the screen.
06:58And I was like, you know what, I'm not embarrassed for going fully out there and going for it.
07:03I liked it.
07:04It's musical theatre on Zoom.
07:05You have no choice but to sell it.
07:07You know what I sang?
07:08I sang like that song that's like, don't you wait from My Fair Lady.
07:12Just you wait in me again, just you wait.
07:16Just you wait.
07:17That's like five different musicals.
07:18Yeah, yeah.
07:19It was assigned to me.
07:20So I like that spotlight and look at me now.
07:23True.
07:24What is your most irrational fear?
07:27I have like a lot of anxiety in general when things are not that important.
07:32Like if I have like a presentation or anything like that.
07:34Jordan's experienced me like freaking out for no reason.
07:37I just had like a small dinner and she was like, I can't come upstairs.
07:40I'm like, there's three gay people here.
07:42And I was like, I don't know, man.
07:43I don't know.
07:44And she's like, I don't know.
07:45She's like, what would they think of me?
07:46And I'm like, it doesn't matter.
07:47They're gay.
07:48They're going to love you.
07:49And I came up and I was like, hello.
07:52What is one acting note that you took personally?
07:59I'm just going to say this.
08:01This is messy as too.
08:02They would reference a specific actor.
08:04We're never going to say who.
08:05You're never, ever going to know Cosmo and just say the name.
08:08Oh my God.
08:09Stop.
08:10And I'd be like, is that what I'm giving?
08:11And so then that would check me, but you'll never know who it is.
08:14You should have said that.
08:15But that's not a note you got.
08:17That's a note.
08:18I would give you.
08:19That's not sure what he would give you.
08:21The one time me and Jordan were doing a scene and Jordan started the scene and then I turned
08:25to him and I was like, that's how we're going to start this.
08:27She goes, are you serious?
08:28You're going to do it like that?
08:29Let's take it back guys.
08:30And I was like, it's my line.
08:32If I didn't feel good about it, I could start over.
08:34You can't start over my line.
08:35But I love that we're able to like push each other.
08:38Yeah, yeah, yeah.
08:39We're like bullying each other.
08:40And we would tell, yeah, we would, we would tell each other if we were acting Disney Channel.
08:44What's one compliment you secretly think you deserve to be told more often?
08:50I love that question.
08:51Oh my God.
08:52Okay, comedic genius.
08:53You are a comedic genius.
08:54You are.
08:55Love it.
08:56You are.
08:57Love it.
08:58Phil said that one time and I'm like, I feel like I should hear that every day.
09:01As a quick follow up to that, which co-star would you love to hear that compliment from?
09:05Yeah.
09:06I'm like, oh God.
09:07Rachel.
09:08You're a comedic genius.
09:09Yes!
09:10Just you wait.
09:12Just you wait.
09:17I feel great.
09:18I feel closer to my loves.
09:20You are crying right now a little bit, right?
09:22I think I'm still sweating.
09:26Rachel sent it.
09:27Yes.
09:30What is a toxic trait you secretly love about yourself?
09:33Mmm.
09:34Mmm.
09:35Toxic trait I secretly love about myself.
09:37Control freak.
09:38When I control everything, it goes straight.
09:40Yeah.
09:41Period.
09:42So that's Mike's toxic trait.
09:44That's why we're all here.
09:45That's it.
09:46Because I'm in control freak.
09:47That's why all of y'all are here by the way.
09:49Amen.
09:50So let's all write down that bitch.
09:52That bitch.
09:53That's kind of what I wrote down actually.
09:55Oh, he wrote that bitch?
09:56That bitch.
09:57No, she's a boss bitch.
09:58Boss bitch.
09:59Wow.
10:00You're diagnosed with boss bitch disease.
10:02Yeah.
10:03Yeah, yeah.
10:04What are we giving you?
10:05We're giving her rolls.
10:07Brand deals.
10:11Who in your life keeps you honest?
10:13I would say I think most of all my sisters.
10:20They really, they humble me.
10:23They keep me grounded.
10:25Jordan, you also keep me honest.
10:26He's looking at me with the eyes of like, Jordan's like, and?
10:30A follow up that I have, which I feel is going to be a similar perhaps answer.
10:33Who or what keeps you humble?
10:35Okay.
10:36Same thing.
10:37There's one more too though.
10:39Of who keeps me humble?
10:40Your trainer.
10:41Oh, my trainer keeps me really humble.
10:45Rachel.
10:46Rachel.
10:47Rachel Ann Sennett.
10:48Uh-huh.
10:49Name a time you felt let down by one of us.
10:52I'm trying to think of maybe like, have I ever made a dinner reservation for this group?
10:58What?
10:59No.
11:00No.
11:01Okay.
11:02Why are you trying to put us against each other Cosmo?
11:03Yeah.
11:04This is true.
11:05We actually like each other.
11:06We like each other.
11:07I'm trying to think of like.
11:08Yeah, some moments are complicated, but any friendship.
11:10That's what happens in family.
11:11Yeah.
11:12I think I feel, do you know what I think I feel is I especially fall behind on the like,
11:17Instagram reels.
11:18But Rachel is also doing 80,000 jobs and we're doing at most one, if not less.
11:25So I think the me letting them down and them letting me down is the juggling of the three
11:31group chats.
11:32I've definitely let you down on set when I've gone for jelly beans and eaten them all before
11:35I gave you one.
11:36I know that.
11:37Yeah.
11:38Josh and I are on our jelly bean shit.
11:39You might not have even known that, but I know that.
11:41When I would be like, I'm not having jelly beans today.
11:43You'd be like, you are.
11:44Especially sex scene day.
11:45I'm just like.
11:46And then Josh shows up with a thing of jelly beans.
11:47I'm like, we're fake dogging each other down for the next four hours.
11:51I can't be having jelly beans.
11:52Yep.
11:53But then as soon as Josh brings the jelly beans, I'm like, ****, I'm not going to not have
11:57a jelly bean.
11:58Once I go into the jelly beans, it's over.
11:59I know.
12:00Then we get into the espresso bean.
12:01It's crazy.
12:02Once the beans start.
12:03And then I'm going to sugar high.
12:04I feel light as a feather, Sabrina Carpenter.
12:09Get in there.
12:10I don't like therapy.
12:12Oh God.
12:13Okay.
12:14Odess.
12:15What do you want?
12:16Tell us one thing you want to get off your chest today.
12:18I think I might get my period in this white outfit.
12:19Okay.
12:20Oh, that is not good.
12:21Okay.
12:22What's up with cycles regularly?
12:23Psycho.
12:24Psycho.
12:25What is one intrusive thought that you have a little too often?
12:27I'm a little bit scared to say it because I feel like if I say it, then I'm speaking it out and it will happen.
12:44Do you want to whisper it to me and I can say it?
12:47Okay.
12:48We're mic'd.
12:49Okay.
12:50Wait, but now I just said it out loud.
12:54Every time our patient.
12:56Wait, I'm scared to say it.
12:58I'm not listening.
12:59There's a fear of getting on a plate and it going.
13:02Oh.
13:03Oh.
13:04Oh.
13:05There are more of it.
13:06A lot.
13:07A lot.
13:08Yeah.
13:09Oh, I'll take the prescription.
13:10It's glockin'.
13:11I'm shocked.
13:12What kind of friend are you in the group chat?
13:13I think I'm good in it.
13:15Am I bad?
13:16Funny memes.
13:17Funny memes.
13:18No, you're good.
13:19I'm good.
13:20I respond.
13:21You're referring to the Instagram chat, but what about our text staff?
13:23I think I've gotten a lot better and I used to be really bad at texting and it's still
13:27hard because like how do you control that thing that's on you all the time?
13:32There's also a lot of spontaneous like I love you guys so much, which is really nice.
13:37I was going to say, there's like an always constant outpouring of love.
13:40Yeah.
13:44My cheeks are really flushed.
13:46I feel a little bit shy and uneasy.
13:49Did we think today was a successful therapy session?
13:52I think today was a successful therapy session.
13:54Yeah.
13:55We learned a lot.
13:56I think we all got some things off our chest.
13:58Yes.
13:59We'll have to meet weekly for four years.
14:01Bye.
14:02We'll have to do the Cosmo cover every week for four years.
14:04I'm like, see you next month.
14:05I'm like, see you next month.
14:06Next month.
14:08Thanks so much for watching.
