00:00Just last month, Israel's Iron Dome was put to the test, with the air defense system shooting
00:05down hundreds of missiles. Now, former U.S. National Security Advisor General H.R. McMaster
00:10is suggesting that the U.S. and U.K. get a similar system of their own.
00:15During a recent interview with radio news station LBC, General McMaster said,
00:20quote, I think it's quite urgent for the United Kingdom, the United States,
00:23for all nations to invest more in defense, adding that he thinks every country is going
00:28to eventually need to develop a similar air defense system. Israel has had its Iron Dome in service
00:33since 2011 and has thus far had around a 90% success rate with tracking and shooting down
00:38incoming ordnance. Business Insider reports that the U.K. is already considering it,
00:43especially as tensions with Russia continue to heat up in Europe. That has made an even more
00:48serious threat as the China, Russia, Iran, and North Korea or Krink's alliance becomes more steadfast.
00:54Still, building an Iron Dome over the entirety of the U.K. would be a much more labor-intensive
00:58and expensive endeavor, as England alone is more than five times the size of Israel,
01:03with the entirety of the U.K. being more than ten times its landmass.
