An ambitious 10-year economic vision and delivery plan has been launched for Leeds, setting out a roadmap to generate £20m in economic growth and create 100,000 new jobs across the city.

00:10The Leeds Economic Vision Delivery Plan is aiming to create 100,000 new jobs across the city,
00:16framed by the National Industrial Strategy and West Yorkshire Growth Plan.
00:20£20 million could be generated in economic growth,
00:23with the city's major sectors receiving significant investment and innovation,
00:27putting Leeds on the global map furthermore.
00:30Leeds' growth is built on a strong track record of delivery,
00:34with a positive future pipeline of projects,
00:36including the £160 million expansion of the Royal Armouries Museum.
00:41There's also the Ellen Road Stadium expansion and regeneration,
00:45which has the potential to unlock billions in investment,
00:48along with the mixed-use development at Air Park,
00:51which features the UK's largest new city centre park,
00:54supported by over £40 million of infrastructure.
00:57The West Yorkshire Combined Authority's mass transit plans are also aiming to improve connectivity,
01:02which councillors believe puts Leeds in a very strong position for accelerated growth.
01:07The vision also identifies key sectors for focused growth and investment,
01:11including financial and professional services.
01:14The ambition is to double growth, creating 50,000 new jobs,
01:17including establishing Leeds as a leading centre for financial tech.
01:21Digital and tech is another key focus,
01:23with Leeds home to over 3,000 digital and data companies,
01:27which generated 12,000 jobs between 2015 and 2022.
01:32Through capitalising on new investments,
01:34the city hopes to drive innovation and digital adoption.

01:38and construction and advanced manufacturing
01:40are also recognised as vital sectors for the city's growth.
