Glasgow Warriors beat Bulls to go top of the URC
Transcript
00:01Hello, it's Graham Bean from the Scotsman at Scottsdale Stadium, where Glasgow Warriors
00:05have just beaten the Bulls by 21 points to 12 to go to the top of the United Brooklyn
00:10Championship standings. It's a hard-fought victory. They outscored the South African
00:14side by three tries to two, and it means they had four wins from the first five games before
00:22the international break. They got the ball rolling through a try from Sione Tupolotu,
00:28converted by Adam Hastings, and they scored further tries in the second half through a
00:32penalty try, and then won by replacement Nathan Macbeth with ten minutes to go. They had to
00:38work hard for their victory. The Bulls took the lead early in the second half, and then
00:43had a try just allowed which would have put them two scores ahead, but Glasgow were just
00:48about worth their win in the end. They also did the welcome bonus having Jack Dempsey
00:53play the full 80 minutes, his first game, first competitive game since playing for Scotland
00:57in the Six Nations back in March. He played the whole match and was later named player of
01:03the match, so that sets things up nicely for him for joining the Scotland camp this week.
01:11Twelve of the Glasgow Warriors starters are part of the Scotland squad for the forthcoming
01:16autumn internationals, including new captain Tupolotu, who played very well tonight and was
01:22keen not to be man of the match himself. Final score here at Scottson, Glasgow Warriors 21,
01:28the Bulls 12.
