00:00Oh
01:00I've been, I've walked by this since I was a little girl, like for decades, and I was shocked
01:26to hear and see that they are demolishing a part of the White House.
01:31And then upon, you know, further investigation, I found out they're demolishing it to build
01:35a ballroom.
01:37I'm, I'm astonished.
01:40It's, it's pretty upsetting.
01:44Number one, I don't know that this is something clearly that the public has a right to know
01:49and to weigh in on because this is America's house.
01:52This house does not belong to any one official.
01:55It belongs to the people.
01:57And so if you're going to, you know, demolish a part of this house, you have to ask the
02:03people permission.
02:03This is a historic landmark building.
02:07I have no idea how they were able to even get the permission to, to do this demolition
02:12and to do it in such a sort of furtive, you know, clandestine way under cover of darkness.
02:19It's kind of, it's kind of bizarre.
02:22It's such kind of shocking.
02:23So yeah, I'm, I'm definitely startled, taken aback and hopefully the, now that the people
02:32know that, that this was something in the works, even, you know, even in the aftermath,
02:39hopefully people can weigh in on it and there may have to be some sort of repercussions.
02:47This is, this is not acceptable.
02:48I think everything that's happening here is pretty shocking and not a great sign of the
02:55times all over the time, but it's just a developer doing what a developer does and trying to not
03:03caring about anything except their own profit and image.
03:10And we have a developer as a president, so he can do that to the White House.
