00:00Oh, well, shifting north, here's what's happening in the NWSL because a lot was announced this weekend.
00:06First of all, I'm very sad to announce the retirement of Kristen Press.
00:10I mean, what an icon.
00:12She just announced that she'll retire at the end of this 2025 season.
00:16She's a two-time World Cup winner, a U.S. Women's National Team legend, and, well, her legacy is unmatched.
00:22But this begs the question, guys, what is ECFC going to do now without two of their star powerhouse players?
00:28Alisa Thompson just recently left.
00:30She had a hard start to her career at Chelsea.
00:33Seven games, zero goals, zero assists.
00:36They made a post of her saying she was the 007 agent.
00:41Next game, a goal and an assist.
00:43So life is better for her, but maybe not for ECFC.
00:46Like you said, we said it here in the show.
00:47It's incredible that we can have the most expensive, the most valuable franchise in the National Women's Soccer League that has not qualified for the playoffs.
00:58Ever.
00:59I have a solution for ECFC.
01:01They got to look into the Liga MX.
01:03They got some amazing Mexican players down there.
01:06Alisa Cervantes could be one of them, even though she's a veteran.
01:09She's a player that can help a team like ECFC to make it to the playoffs, at least.
01:13And I think that they should look more to the south.
01:17La Liga MX is growing.
01:18We've just seen it with the amazing games, with the players that are going to Liga MX.
01:23So that would be a CFC.
01:25If you scare me, like Liga MX, you can get more players down there.
01:28We hope that the Mexican teams are able to compete like we see in League's Cup with the NWSL.
01:36It will be a tournament that will bring a lot of awareness for both leagues and promote the game at large and the level of play.
01:44Because I'm telling you guys, the type of players that both leagues have is amazing.
