The International Monetary Fund (IMF) has upgraded India’s GDP growth forecast for FY2025-26 to 6.6%, up from its earlier estimate of 6.4%, citing strong first-quarter performance that helped offset the impact of higher US tariffs on Indian goods. However, the IMF’s latest World Economic Outlook lowered India’s 2026-27 growth projection to 6.2%. The revision comes amid ongoing trade tensions, with the US imposing 50% tariffs on several Indian exports, notably in the textile sector.

00:00The top story that we are following here on India today is the IMF, that is the International
00:04Monetary Fund, raising India's growth forecast for 2025-26 despite the US tariff heights.
00:11The International Monetary Fund has revised upwards India's GDP growth forecast for the
00:16current fiscal to 6.6% compared to the earlier estimate of 6.4%. Now this on the back of very
00:24strong growth which offsets the impact of the US tariffs on Indian shipments. This is good news
00:31coming in from the IMF which is the International Monetary Fund. It has now raised India's growth
00:38forecast. Now this despite the US tariff heights, International Monetary Fund has now revised upwards
00:45India's GDP growth forecast. The current fiscal at the moment, the forecast for the current fiscal
00:50is at 6.6% compared to the earlier estimate that IMF had given at 6.4%. Now this on the
00:57back of strong growth. This strong growth is offsetting the impact of the Indian tariffs that
01:02we are seeing, of the US tariffs that we are seeing on the Indian shipments.
01:20The story that we are following now very closely is coming in from the state of Bihar. There are signs
01:30that there is a sheet-searing tussle that is now taking place within the NDA. The BJP has released the
01:35first list of 71 candidates. Key names are now including both the Deputy Chief Minister Samrat Chaudhary
01:41from Tarapur and Vijay Sina from Lakhi Sarai. HAM has also announced six candidates, all set to join
01:48NDA's poll push. The CPIML has actually withdrawn the 18 names and the alliance is still in a daily
01:55dallying state. On the Mahagarbandan front, it's the Congress and the RJD. The talks at the moment are
02:01inconclusive. There is no clarity yet on who will fight on how many seats. This friction over
02:06Bakri constituencies continues to delay a final deal. Jan Swarad Chief Prashant Kishore will not be
02:12contesting from the RJD stronghold of Raghupur. His party has fielded Chansal Singh instead.
02:36What we are seeing at the moment in the state of Bihar, seats, strategies and simmering tensions. Now, Bihar's poll battle is heating up. The alliance cracks are showing. Both the NDA as well as the Mahagarbandan, they are juggling numbers and
02:42egos. As the poll day is approaching, the real contest may actually lie within the alliances.
02:48Take a look at this report.
02:53What we are seeing at the moment in the state of Bihar, seats, strategies and simmering tensions. Now, Bihar's poll battle is heating up. The alliance cracks are showing. Both the NDA as well as the Mahagarbandan, they are juggling numbers and egos. As the poll day is approaching, the real contest may actually lie within the alliances themselves. Take a look at this report.
03:18Seats, strife and suspense. That is a story brewing in Bihar as election season heats up.
03:35The BJP has released its first list of 71 candidates for the Assembly polls.
03:41Among the key names, Deputy Chief Ministers, Samrat Chaudhary and Vijay Kumar Sinha are contesting from Tarapur and Lucky Sarai, respectively.
04:00BJP's list also reflects a careful caste balance.
04:0320 OBCs, 11 from extremely backward classes, 6 SCST candidates and 9 women.
04:11Upper caste's two fine plays. With 11 Bhoomiyaars, 15 Rajputs, 7 Brahmins and 1 Kaisth.
04:21Not everyone made the cut.
04:23BJP dropped senior leaders including former Agriculture Minister Amreinder Pratap Singh, Speaker Nand Kishore Yadav and Kumrar MLA Arjun Sinha signalling a reshuffle within.
04:34But what is fueling more heat is the seat sharing formula within the NDA.
04:52As per the seat sharing deal, BJP and JDU will contest 101 seats each, while Chirag Paswan's LJP has been given 29 and 6 each to HAL and Upender Khushwaha's RLM.
05:07This arithmetic has made some key takeaways crystal clear.
05:13For the first time since their alliance began, JDU has ceded the Big Brother position and is now on equal footing with the BJP.
05:21Moreover, Chirag Paswan's growing clout means JDU's pre-eminence is under renewed scrutiny.
05:30Sources say he is being seen as the BJP's new Dalit face in Bihar.
05:35The LJP leader's significant seat share thus sends a clear message.
05:39H.A.M. chief Jitin Ramanji has also released the party's first list, while biting down unhappiness over being allotted just succeeds.
06:03But it is not just the NDA facing friction.
06:07The Congress-RJD alliance is also caught in a tug-of-war.
06:11Congress is demanding 61 to 63 seats, but RJD has refused to part with a few key constituencies, including Kahalgaon, Narkatia Ganj and Varisali Ganj.
06:23Earlier, multiple RJD candidates were called to Rabri Devi's residence and handed party symbols right in the middle of Congress-RJD negotiations in Dehra.
06:33Sources say the Congress is upset, claiming it was sidelined while candidates were finalized in Patna.
06:49CPI-ML has also withdrawn the first list of candidates amid Mahagatwandhan's seat-sharing delay.
06:56With just weeks to go, Bihar's alliances remain shaky, strategies unclear and egos on edge.
07:04One thing is for sure, this election won't just be fought in constituencies, but also within alliances themselves.
07:12With Rohit Singh and Shashi Bhushan, Bureau Report, India Today.
07:21News that's coming in at the moment.
07:31Late night NBA seat-sharing drama is taking place in the state of Bihar.
07:35Kupendra Khushwaha, who is miffed over the Mahua seat going to the LJP.
07:40BJP leaders, all of them, met Kupendra Khushwaha in Patna late last night.
07:44Now, despite the seat-sharing formula within the NBA, what we are seeing at the moment, a lot of political drama, but still continues.
07:51And this continued well into late night.
07:54Kupendra Khushwaha was upset that the Mahua seat went to the LJP, which is the Chirag Passman party.
08:00BJP leaders, in fact, arrived at night to have a conversation with Kupendra Khushwaha.
08:05Union Minister of State for Home Affairs, Nityadan Rair, Samrat Chaudhvi, Nitin Naveen, all of them, arrived to pacify Upendra Khushwaha.
08:14Upendra Khushwaha has said nothing is going well within the NBA.
08:17Upendra Khushwaha has said nothing is going well within the NBA.
08:47Upendra Khushwaha has said nothing is going well within the NBA.
08:54We have seen how, despite the official announcement coming in, a lot of posts coming in through Twitter.
09:00And now, we just heard Upendra Khushwaha very clearly saying not everything is well within the NBA.
09:07Yes, the one-line statement made by Upendra Khushwaha last night, after the meeting with the BJP leaders in Ottawa,
09:14there is an entire study of what is going on in the NBA.
09:18Nothing is well within the NBA, which is what Upendra Khushwaha has said.
09:23And this really goes on to show that at least Upendra Khushwaha is not at all happy with the seat sharing that has taken place.
09:32And especially the Mahua seat, on which he was eyeing to feel one of his family members from there,
09:40that seat has gone in the kitty of Shirak Paswan's party.
09:45So, that has really miffed Upendra Khushwaha.
09:48And he has, in fact, did not come out of his house also for the last three days, ever since he came to Patna.
09:56And late night, we saw that several top BJP leaders went to modify him.
10:02In fact, Nityanand Rai, Samrat Chaudhary, Rituraj Sinha, Nitin Dabin,
10:06all these top ministers from the center and the Bihar government,
10:10they all had a long discussion with Upendra Khushwaha for about three to four hours.
10:16And following which, when they left, what we come to know is that nothing is well in NBA according to Upendra Khushwaha.
10:23Now, remains to be seen as to what will Upendra Khushwaha field candidates or not,
10:31who will be the candidates of Upendra Khushwaha's party as he has been allotted six seats.
10:35Because, remember, there is only three days left for the nomination for the first case to get over.
10:42And still, Upendra Khushwaha at least has not come out with a list of his own candidates.
10:47Right. Thank you, Rohit, for giving us all those details.
10:50All is not well within the NDA.
10:51We are seeing the cracks coming out in the open now.
10:58We're moving now to the state of West Bengal, where the Durgaapur horror case has shocked Bengal.
11:03This case is now seeing new twists and turns.
11:06The police have actually ruled out gang rape, citing survivors' own statement and the forensic evidence.
11:12The survivor's account is now painting a chilling picture.
11:15They held me down. I could not even move.
11:18One man undressed me and raped me.
11:20And when I was screaming, he threatened to call more men.
11:23The officers say that only one man sexually assaulted the medical student.
11:27The prime accused, in fact, Wasif Ali is a friend and a classmate of the survivor.
11:30Wasif was grilled for four days before his arrest and taken to the crime scene
11:35for the reconstruction of what exactly happened on that fateful night.
11:39Five arrests have been made so far.
11:40The political game, however, is intensifying.
11:43BJP Suvendu Adhikari is alleging that the probe was delayed under pressure,
11:47claiming that TMC leaders blocked the action and police acted like party guarder.
11:51So, as before you are saying, where is your daughter's daughter's daughter?
12:00Then, she is still under pressure, she is still under pressure.
12:02And no matter how many nights it is, she is still under pressure.
12:06He is still under pressure.
12:07Now, she is doing hospitalization?
12:08Now.
12:09Now, do you talk about your doctor?
12:12Yes, the doctor talked about it.
12:13It improved.
12:14So, she said it will gradually,
12:16but she will take it.
12:16I'm going to talk to you about the politics of the whole Bangladesh.
12:20He's doing politics.
12:23He's doing politics.
12:24Mahmoud Abhanar Ji is saying,
12:26I wrote my girl in 12 hours.
12:28Is it your girl or not?
12:30If it happens, we don't have a question.
12:32I told my wife at 10 hours.
12:34You told my girl.
12:36Who told me?
12:37No one told me.

13:01What happened to your girl?
13:03He's crying.
13:05What would you say to me?
13:07Come to my position.
13:09What would you say to me?
13:11I am not sure.
13:14I don't know the people in residential areas.
13:16What are the reasons?
13:17We don't know what residents are.
13:19In the past 4 years,
13:21We had $1,13,000,000 commitment.
13:24I have already paid $80,000,000.
13:26But not.
13:27Why not?
13:28But he's not given proper security.
13:30Last.
13:33No!
13:42What a sister!
13:49As per the technical and scientific evidences collected and statement of the victim girl,
14:16we have found that physical sexual assault has been committed by one of the accused person and what is the involvement of all these five are being investigated.

14:49We have found that physical sexual assault has been committed by one of the victims.
14:56We have found that physical sexual assault has been committed by one of the victims.
15:02We have found that physical sexual assault has been committed by one of the victims.
15:09We are moving on to the state of Haryana, where the suicides have actually become a victim.
15:37The leader of the opposition in Lok Sabha, Rahul Gandhi, as well as the NDA leader, Chirak Paswan,
15:46both of them visited the family of the Dalit IPS officer, Vaipurun Kumar.
15:50He is the one who died by suicide last week, claiming caste discrimination.
15:54But the second suicide happened yesterday.
15:56This was another officer blaming Puran Kumar.
15:59Two suicides in a week jolt Haryana police.
16:12Days after Dalit IPS officer Vaipurun Kumar took his life, alleging caste discrimination in service.
16:18An assistant sub-inspector from Cybers cell allegedly died by suicide on Tuesday.
16:25Rotak ASI Sandeep, who allegedly shot himself, left a note and video message claiming ADGP Puran Kumar was scared of getting arrested in a corruption case.
16:37The ASI was part of the investigation team that arrested ADGP Puran Kumar's PSO in an extortion case.
16:52As a man who was a very loyal man, he was a very loyal man.
16:55He was a very loyal man.
16:58He was a very loyal man, he was a very loyal man.
17:00Now he was convinced that his dead body was taken.
17:02He was called the forensic team and he was going to be running.
17:05He was a very loyal man.
17:06He was a very loyal man.
17:07He was a very loyal man.
17:08We were talking about it.
17:09So he said before, this was a very loyal man.
17:12That I was told to say that the law of the torturing of this man and he had taken the gunman's rights.
17:18They had taken the gunman's rights.
17:20He had taken the gunman's rights to it.
17:22This was a very loyal man.
17:24This is what Sandeep Kumar had done in this country.
17:27He had done theague of these serious issues in Nepal.
17:30There was no justification for suicide.
17:33Incidentally, ADGP Puran Kumar was found dead with gunshot wounds at his residence on October 7.
17:56His suicide note detailed the alleged harassment and caste-based discrimination he faced in service over the years.
18:05He had alleged that DGP Shatrujit Kapoor was using Rotak SP Narendra Bijarnia to implicate him in fabricated cases.
18:15The Dalit IBS officer's death has become a political flashpoint.
18:19Leader of the opposition Rahul Gandhi visited Puran Kumar's wife, IAS officer Amnit Kumar.
18:26The Dalit IBS officer's death has been the wrong message.
18:31You are as successful as you are, as intelligent as you are, as capable as you are.
18:39If you are Dalit, you can get rid of yourself and this is not acceptable for us.
18:46BJP LI and NDA's Dalit Fais in Bihar, Chiraq Paswan, two visited Puran Kumar's family.
18:55Puran Kumar's family has refused post-mortem and cremation of body till the demand for the arrest of DGP Shatrujit Kapoor and SP Narendra Bijarnia is met.
19:26The Nayaf Singh Saini government has sent the DGP on leave and removed SP Bijarnia from his post.
19:33O.P. Singh has taken charge as the acting DGP.
19:36With Kamal Jeet Korsandhu, Bureau Report, India Today.
19:40News that's coming in from the state of Tamil Nadu.
19:49Now, there's a big controversy over Foxconn's new investment for the state of Tamil Nadu.
19:54Chief Minister M.K. Stalin says Foxconn is all set to make a major investment in the state.
20:00They are now all set to say that any new commitment is coming in.
20:07That there's a new commitment which is now coming in.
20:12Anbumani, however, says Foxconn has denied any new commitment.
20:15My colleague Pramod is now joining me on the story.
20:23Pramod, we are seeing that with regards to Foxconn, there are certain claims that are made.
20:28Claims that 90% of the announcements are bundles of lies.
20:32Industries Minister now has hit back.
20:35Tamil Nadu is now saying that there is a sabotage attempt just because of political fighting
20:40that Foxconn should not be investing in the state of Tamil Nadu.
20:43Well, it definitely has turned ugly right now, Sharia,
20:47because this is a particular investment that the Tamil Nadu government has been waiting for a very long period.
20:51In fact, there have been so many announcements, earlier actions regarding this,
20:55but all those were rumours.
20:56And right now, it worked at Chief Minister and Chief Karen do actually show the image of Foxconn officials.
21:01that the Senegal is being along with them.
21:03And then, an announcement was made that 15,000 crores have been promised,
21:08and this is now to demonstrate 14,000 crores of Trump.
21:11However, there has been a new report from Foxconn denying making any such investment claims
21:16or new investment claims in particular.
21:19This is where Anbumani Ramdas is now stating that almost 90% of such announcements
21:23that is made by the Tamil Nadu government is bogus and declaims that this is fraudulent behaviour.
21:27This has turned quite ugly because Anbumani said that, like, the WGN moral government,
21:32which Tamil Nadu is actually the Chief Minister is boasting about, is making such false claims.
21:36However, in an ugly manner, T.R. Biraja went ahead and he stated that this is, like,
21:40there are several geopolitical reasons, political reasons.
21:43Now, he was kind of talking about the tarot issues and such,
21:46stating that there are certain things that are based on it,
21:48because he claimed that the rumours were there for a long period and right now it has been confirmed.
21:53But, the act, it was, like, you know, Bill, especially the talks were going on for a very long time.
21:59This is not being considered as a new investment.
22:00That seems to be the explanation from T.R. Biraja.
22:02However, he also took an ugly best claiming that Anbumani is trying to venting off
22:07because of the issues with his father.
22:09That is it, he appears to be on Anbumani's, this allegation, such area.
22:13Thank you, Pramod, for giving us all those details.
22:15We are seeing how Foxconn has now become the new bone of contention in the state of Tamil Nadu.
22:21The top story that we are following here on India today, coming in from the state of Tamil Nadu.
22:25It seems like Chief Minister M.K. Stalin has had an imaginary investment coming into the state from Foxconn.
22:32Foxconn has denied any investment coming to the state of Tamil Nadu.
22:36M.K. Stalin, however, is claiming that there has been a major investment coming into the state of Tamil Nadu by Foxconn.
22:43Stalin has announced that Foxconn investment now is coming into the state.
22:47What we are seeing now is a tug of war that's taking place.
22:51Anbumani on the other side is saying 90% of Stalin's investment claims all of them are fake.
22:57The DMK has hit back saying that this is just PMK's bid to sabotage the development of the state of Tamil Nadu.
23:04My colleague Pramod Madhav is now joining me on the story.
23:07Pramod, the bone of contention now is Foxconn.
23:10On one side, we have the Chief Minister who is making these tall claims.
23:14He is saying that Foxconn is all set to give major investment to the state of Tamil Nadu.
23:19PMK on the other side is saying 90% of these claims are false.
23:22It's about a recent announcement that was made by the state industry minister, TRB Raja, an indicator called as the guidance Tamil Nadu and also the chief minister.
23:34The chief minister said that investment worth repeats 15,000 crores has been solidified and that will lead to jobs security for 14,000 people.
23:44However, Anbumani Ramdas, the leader from PMK, now claims that Foxconn has denied any kind of such investment to be precisely made in Tamil Nadu.
23:53That is why he claims that this is fraudulent action and he says that such kind of announcement that is made by the state of Tamil Nadu, 90% of them are not true.
24:03This is a huge allegation that is being placed by Anbumani Ramdas and this is where now TRB Raja is claiming that such announcements are made in a manner,
24:11making sure that there are certain multiple reasons over it, especially about the geopolitical situation.
24:17He is talking about the tax war, the tarot war and such and he says in a way, he could have actually given an explanation on that matter
24:23but also TRB Raja went ahead and claimed that this is a sabotage attempt by PMK, especially Anbumani Ramdas,
24:29stating because of internal family issues he is behaving in this manner, actually.
24:36Right, Pramod, you know, we are also seeing how it's Tamil Nadu and a lot of news which is coming in with regards to
24:41various other investments also. PMK now pointing fingers at the government and saying that most of the claims
24:47that were made over the past many years, none of them have been fulfilled so far.
24:51Well, one of the recent announcement that was made is that the chief minister had gone to like a European trip,
24:56a few US trips and he also said that he has met with the officials from the Google network.
25:00Well, now PMK says that once Anbumani Ramdas said that even such a claim was made,
25:05but however, that announcement has gone to Vichyagra Patnam,
25:08and so that way, this particular announcement of industry developing the state has turned into a war of words,
25:13especially being led by Anbumani Ramdas and the education minister,
25:17the industry minister, TRB Raja, responding to that, actually.
25:23Right, thank you, Pramod, giving us all those details.
25:25What we are seeing now in the state of Tamil Nadu with regards to Foxconn,
25:29the chief minister has been making claims, major investment coming into the state,
25:32but the PMK leaders are now saying that all these are just tall, false claims.
25:45The other news which is coming in, coming in from the state of Haryana.
25:48The top cops family has now relented nine days after the suicide took place.
25:53Sources have told India today, IPS, Vaipurunkumar's family has now allowed the post-mortem to take place.
26:00Now, this comes after the court issued a notice to the IPS officer's wife.
26:05IPS, Vaipurunkumar's family has now relented.
26:08The cremation will take place at 4 p.m. today.
26:10The court gave one day's time to Haryana, a cop's wife.
26:14My colleague is now joining me on this story.
26:17Aman is now joining me.
26:18Aman, from what we understand at the moment, there was a court order that was given out.
26:22We understand the cremation will take place at 4 p.m. today.
26:25Exactly, and because yesterday the notice was issued to the family that there should be identification of the body for the post-mortem that to be conducted.
26:35And also, if a family doesn't give the consent, so they'll go by the court in a legal way,
26:41in which the court has a right to give its consent and police will conduct the post-mortem.
26:46So, by seeing that, and she was asked, Amneet was asked, the wife of Vicky's wife, Vaipurunkumar,
26:52she was asked to give a reply today itself for 15th of October.
26:57But it's been now informed that family has given its consent for the post-mortem.
27:02And SSP Chandigarh Kamardeep Corps has reached the residence in sector 24 to meet family and get it signed on the papers as well.
27:11And now the body where it's in PGI Chandigarh, so the post-mortem will be conducted and cremation will take at 4 p.m. today.
27:21And it's a ninth day, Aishwarya, that there was no post-mortem or cremation that was conducted.
27:25And it was building pressure for the Haryana government as well, that in nine days there's no conclusion and big action was demanded.
27:33Other side, one major important point is that the committee which has been formed by the 31 and 51 members,
27:40they have given their ultimatum as well, that even now the post-mortem is being conducted.
27:45So, they have their scheduled program in which they will agitate, they will raise demands against the government.
27:51So, we'll have to see how the Haryana government and the police will balance the equation,
27:56because SAT has been formed, they are investigating the matter.
27:58In seven days, there are two murders of Haryana police, one senior official and one ASI.
28:05So, for balancing the situation and giving justice to the family, which has been demanded,
28:13it has to be seen what else is being followed.
28:16Right. Thank you, Aman, for giving us all those details.
28:18My colleague Aman Bharadwaj, giving us details.
28:20The cremation of the IPS officer who committed suicide will take place at 4 p.m. today.
28:28Now, the second suicide of the police officer in Haryana within days has now intensified public as well as political uproar.
28:36After IPS officer why Puran Kumar was found dead, ASI Sandeep Kumar also has been found dead in Rotak with a gunshot wound.
28:44A note found at the scene accused Puran Kumar of corruption and urged a probe into the family's assets.
28:49Rotak police has confirmed Sandeep's death and said that an investigation is now ongoing.
28:54Posted in the cyber cell, ASI Sandeep Kumar allegedly arrested a gunman very close to Puran Kumar in a bribery case.
29:01His family from Jind is claiming they learnt of his death via television and alleged that he was under pressure and he was also under mental torture.
29:09Relatives said he had returned home just two days earlier and was speaking of massal harassment.
29:13Chandigarh court has now directed the IES officer, Apneet Puran, and the wife of Puran Kumar to respond on the post-mortem identification of the body.
29:23Police is now seeking access to the deceased IPS officer's laptop.
29:27Amid all this, the political tension is also fearing up.
29:31The leader of the opposition in Lok Sabha, Rahul Gandhi, is now blaming the Haryana government, initially citing caste oppression in Puran Kumar's case.
29:38However, after the second death, the focus has now shifted towards a political systematic corruption within the police force in the state of Haryana.
30:08Now, one after the other, the chiefs were considering
30:38Suicides that are taking place in the state of Haryana have become a big political flashpoint.
30:43Leader of the opposition in Lok Sabha, Rahul Gandhi, and NDA leader, Chirak Paswan,
30:47both of them visited the family of the Dalit IPS officer, Puran Kumar, who died by suicide last week.
30:54He claimed that there has been massive caste discrimination that was against him.
30:58But the second suicide, which happened yesterday by another officer,
31:01he is now blaming Puran Kumar, and this has divided the entire police force.
31:05Watch this report.
31:09Two suicides in a week jolt Haryana police.
31:15Days after Dalit IPS officer Vaipooran Kumar took his life,
31:20alleging caste discrimination in service,
31:24an assistant sub-inspector from Cyber Cell allegedly died by suicide on Tuesday.
31:30Rota KSI Sandeep, who allegedly shot himself, left a note and video message
31:36claiming ADGP Puran Kumar was scared of getting arrested in a corruption case.
31:46The ASI was part of the investigation team that arrested ADGP Puran Kumar's PSO in an extortion case.
31:54My name is Sandaip.
31:59It was a very trustworthy and trustworthy man.
32:02We had a very trustworthy man.
32:02We had a very trustworthy man.
32:04We had a very trustworthy man.
32:05We had a very trustworthy man.
32:06Now we have a forensic team called the team.
32:07We are going to go.
32:08I don't think it's a good thing, but I don't think it's a good thing.
32:14One thing I was saying,
32:16when I was talking about this,
32:19I had to take a look at him.
32:22He had to take a look at him.
32:23He had to take a look at him.
32:25He had to take a look at him.
32:27Sandeep Kumar said,
32:29in this country,
32:30he had to take a look at him in Nepal.
32:34There is no justification for him.
32:37He had to take a look at him.
32:39And this moment,
32:43he had to take a look at him.
32:51Incidentally, ADGP Puran Kumar was found dead with gunshot wounds at his residence on October 7.
32:59His suicide note detailed the alleged harassment and caste-based discrimination he faced in service over the years.
33:06He had alleged that DGP Shatrajit Kapoor was using Rotak SP Narendra Vijarnia to implicate him in fabricated cases.
33:16The Dalit IPS officer's death has become a political flashpoint.
33:22Leader of the opposition Rahul Gandhi visited Puran Kumar's wife, IAS officer Amneet Kumar.
33:29In the country,
33:30his brothers and sisters in the country,
33:32his brothers and sisters come in a wrong message.
33:33The rectum message is wrong
33:34that you are successful,
33:36as much as intelligent,
33:40as much as capable of being intelligent,
33:42as much as capable of being a good person.
33:43If you are Dalit,
33:45you can drop your advantage,
33:47and this is not acceptable for us.
33:49P.J.P.L.I.A. and N.D.A.'s Talit Fais in Bihar, Chirag Paswan, two visited Puran Kumar's family.
33:58Puran Kumar's family has refused post-mortem and cremation of body
34:22till their demand for the arrest of D.J.P. Chaturjit Kapoor and S.P. Narendra Bijarnia is met.
34:28The Nayav Singh Saini government has sent the D.J.P. on leave and removed S.P. Bijarnia from his post.
34:36O.P. Singh has taken charge as the acting D.J.P.
34:39With Kamal Jeet Korsandhu, Bureau Report, India Today.
34:58News that's coming in from the pole-bound state of Bihar.
35:03Late-night N.D.A. seat-sharing drama has taken place in the state.
35:07Upendu Khushwaha is missed over the Mauva seat going to the L.J.P.
35:10B.J.P. Nitas have now met Upendu Khushwaha late at night in the city of Patna.
35:16Now despite the seat-sharing within the N.D.A., there's a lot of political drama which still continues.
35:21Upendu Khushwaha is upset because the Mauva seat has been given to L.J.P.
35:26B.J.P. leaders in fact arrived at midnight to have a conversation with Upendu Khushwaha.
35:31Union Minister of State for Home Affairs Nityan Nandarai, Samrat Chaudhwi, Nitin Naveen, Rituraj Sina,
35:37all of them arrived at Upendu Khushwaha's residence to pacify him.
35:41Upendu Khushwaha said nothing is well within the N.D.A.
35:45A big statement coming in from Upendu Khushwaha.
35:46This time nothing is well in N.D.A.
36:16My colleague Rohit Singh is now joining me on the story.
36:19Rohit, it seems like despite all that assurance that has been given by the B.J.P.,
36:24the allies are still not happy with the way in which they have been given seats.
36:28Late night parlays taking place in the city of Patna.
36:33Well, yes, ever since the seat-sharing agreement came before the media and also the public two or three days back,
36:42there has been anger in Chita Namajee and also Upendu Khushwaha.
36:49And Upendu Khushwaha particularly appears to be more mixed because of the just six seats that he has got.
36:55And especially the seats of his choice has gone into Chirag Paswan's party city.
37:02So that is what has really irked Upendu Khushwaha.
37:05And for the last couple of days, Khushwaha has maintained the distance from the media also, hasn't come out of his house.
37:12And yesterday, late night, there was an attempt that was made by top B.J.P. leaders present in Patna,
37:18led by Nityanand Rai, Kamrad Chaudhary, Minister Nitin Raveen and Ritu Raj Sinha,
37:23who went to placate Upendu Khushwaha but to no avail.
37:28And Upendu Khushwaha late night gave a one-line comment that nothing is well in the NDA,
37:34which really signals that how bad the situation is right now in the alliance.
37:41And early morning today, what we are learning is that Upendu Khushwaha is about to leave for Delhi,
37:48where he is going to hold a last round of meeting with the Union Home Minister Amit Shah,
37:53following which it will come to light at what will be the next move of Upendu Khushwaha.
37:58Because remember, there are three days left for the first phase nominations to get over.
38:04And Upendu Khushwaha has not come out with the list of his own candidates,
38:09that is six candidates which he has been allotted.
38:12So there is a drama which is going on.
38:14And it appears that this is because of Chirag Paswan,
38:18the number of seats that Chirag Paswan has got,
38:20the choice of seats that has gone into Chirag Paswan's quota,
38:25has really met both the GDU also and Upendu Khushwaha also.
38:30Back to you.
38:32Right. Thank you, Rohit, giving us all those details.
38:35What we are seeing now, it's Upendu Khushwaha,
38:37who has been unhappy with the way in which seats have been given to Chirag Paswan's LJP.
38:41Amit, signs of the tussle that is taking place with regards to the seat sharing within the NDA,
38:46the BJP, in fact, has gone ahead and released the first list of 71 candidates.
38:51The key names that include both the Deputy Chief Minister Samrat Chaudhary from Tarapur
38:56and Vijay Sina from Lakhi Sarai.
38:58HAM also has announced six candidates, all set to join the NDA's poll push.
39:03Despite the NDA finalising the seat-sharing formula, political tensions still continue.
39:08RML's Upendu Khushwaha is very, very unhappy.
39:11He is unhappy because the Mauva seat has been allocated to the LJP.
39:14In response, senior leaders, including the Union Minister Nityanand Rai,
39:19the Deputy Chief Minister Samrat Chaudhary, Nitin Naveen,
39:21all of them, at about midnight, made an attempt to calm the situation down.
39:26They went and met Upendu Khushwaha.
39:28Upendu Khushwaha went ahead and said, all is not well within the NDA.
39:32Now, this is with regards to what's happening in NDA.
39:34When we shift gear and move to the Mahagadband,
39:36the Congress RJD talks are still inconclusive.
39:39There is no clarity yet on seat-sharing.
39:41The friction over key constituency continues to delay the final deal to take place.
39:48Now, there was a list that came out from CPI-ML.
39:51They have withdrawn the 18 names amid the alliance delays.
39:54On the other hand, Jansurad Chief Prashant Kishore will not be contesting
39:58from RJD's stronghold, Raghupur.
40:01His party has fielded Chantral Singh instead.
40:11We understand that India is intact and we are all the people will meet in Bahar.
40:16The government is concerned about the city of Hattwanda.
40:18Is that the city of Hattwanda has taken place?
40:20It's like this, but the city of Hattwanda has not been involved.
40:25What we are seeing? Seeds, strategies and simmering tensions.
40:42Now Pihar's pole battle is heating up with each passing day.
40:45The alliance cracks are out in the open, they are showing.
40:48Both the NDA and the Mahagadbandhan, they are juggling with number of seats and with a lot of egos.
40:53As the poll date is coming closer, the real contest may lie within the alliances themselves.
40:59Take a look at this report.
41:14Seeds, strife and suspense. That is a story brewing in Bihar as election season heats up.
41:21The BJP has released its first list of 71 candidates for the assembly polls.
41:32Among the key names, Deputy Chief Ministers, Samrat Chaudhary and Vijay Kumar Sinha are contesting from Tarapur and Lucky Sarai respectively.
41:42BJP's list also reflects a careful caste balance.
41:5020 OBCs, 11 from extremely backward classes, 6 SCSTs candidates and 9 women.
41:58Upper castes do fine plays.
42:01With 11 Bhumiars, 15 Rajputs, 7 Brahmins and 1 Kayist.
42:06Not everyone made the cut.
42:10BJP dropped senior leaders including former Agriculture Minister Amreinder Pratap Singh,
42:15Speaker Nand Kishore Yadav and Kumarar MLA Arjun Sinha signaling a reshuffle within.
42:21But what is fueling more heat is the seat sharing formula within the NDA.
42:38As per the seat sharing deal, BJP and JDU will contest 101 seats each,
42:45while Chirag Paswan's LJP has been given 29 and 6 each to HAN and Upender Khushwaha's RLM.
42:55This arithmetic has made some key takeaways crystal clear.
43:00For the first time since their alliance began,
43:03JDU has seeded the Big Brother position and is now on equal footing with the BJP.
43:07Moreover, Chirag Paswan's growing clout means JDU's pre-eminence is under renewed scrutiny.
43:17Sources say he is being seen as the BJP's new Dalit face in Bihar.
43:21The LJP leader's significant seat share thus sends a clear message.
43:37And hopefully they are doing it.
43:41H.A.M. chief Jitin Ramanji has also released the party's first list,
43:46while biting down unhappiness over being allotted just six seats.
43:50But it is not just the NDA facing friction.
43:54The Congress-RJD alliance is also caught in a tug of war.
43:58Congress is demanding 61 to 63 seats,
44:00but RJD has refused to part with a few key constituencies including
44:05Kahal Gaon, Nar Katya Ganj and Varis Ali Ganj.
44:10Earlier, multiple RJD candidates were called to Rabri Devi's residence
44:14and handed party symbols right in the middle of Congress-RJD negotiations in Denmark.
44:20Sources say the Congress is upset,
44:22claiming it was sidelined while candidates were finalized in Patna.
44:25C.P.I. ML has also withdrawn the first list of candidates
44:40amid Mahagatvandhan's seat-sharing delay.
44:44With just weeks to go, Bihar's alliances remain shaky,
44:48strategies unclear and egos on edge.
44:50One thing is for sure,
44:53this election won't just be fought in constituencies,
44:56but also within alliances themselves.
45:02With Rohit Singh and Shashi Bhushan,
45:06Bureau Report, India Today.
45:07News that's coming in.
45:17It seems like the seat-sharing agreement has failed within the Mahagatvandhan.
45:21According to sources, Congress is adamant they are demanding more than 60 seats.
45:25Congress and Pact is all set to field close to 65 candidates.
45:30RJD has set a limit of 58 seats for the Congress party.
45:33There's a fierce dispute that we are seeing taking place between the Congress and the RJD
45:38over the number of seats that RJD is willing to give to the Congress party.
45:42Congress, in fact, has proposed a formula of 138 seats for the RJD.
45:47The left parties have been asked to accommodate VIP in the remaining 40 seats.
45:51Without a clear picture on seat-sharing,
45:53several parties, in fact, have issued symbols to candidates.
45:56A big tug-of-war taking place in the Mahagatvandhan.
45:59Till now, they have not been able to come out and to decide the seat-sharing formula.
46:05The seat-sharing formula is still very, very vague when we speak about the Mahagatvandhan.
46:10Sources have told India Today, Congress party is adamant.
46:13They are now demanding more than 60 seats in the upcoming Bihar elections.
46:17Congress is preparing to field candidates in 65 seats.
46:21The RJD, on the other side, has set a limit of 58 seats for the Congress party.
46:25A fierce dispute taking place between the Congress and the RJD over the number of seats.
46:30Congress has now proposed a formula of 138 seats for the RJD.
46:35The left parties have been asked to accommodate VIP in the remaining 40 seats.
46:40Now, without a clear picture on the seat-sharing formula,
46:42several parties have issued symbols to their candidates.
46:47Did Asvi Yadav, who was in the national capital, did not meet Rahul Gandhi?
46:51Conversations are still going on.
46:54Rahul Gandhi has made it very, very clear that Congress party this time
46:57wants more than 60 seats in the upcoming Bihar elections.
47:01Did Asvi Yadav all set to give them 58 seats.
