00:00Because, I got a hot take my boy. I got a hot take. We talked about it. We talked about it before and you wanted a comp for Paige Beckers coming into the league lighting the WNBA on fire and the comp is going to be a NBA comp not a WNBA comp because I do like sports.
00:22I'm starting to like women's sports more and more but I'm not an avid WNBA player so I couldn't give you more WNBA players.
00:32So, the comp that I have for Paige Beckers is actually CJ McCollum.
00:39Hmm. I like that. I like that.
00:43A little different. Try to go off the grain. I know she's majority playing point guard but I feel like you can really let her shine at that two card position.
00:51She's crafty. She can hit a jumper. She doesn't necessarily rely solely on her athletic ability to be able to score and get to the basket and she is a willing three-point shooter but that's not necessarily something she lives or dies by.
01:05So, I like the CJ McCollum comp but how are you feeling about that?
01:08I like CJ. You know, I think CJ, shout out to Lehigh University. You know, I like the CJ comparison. I think they're the two shifty guards, two shifty undersized guards for their position.
01:19So, it definitely fits the mold. You know, I think when I think of CJ, I think that CJ might be a little slower than Paige.
01:29I think Paige got a little bit more dip on the chip a little bit.
01:32I think, yeah, I like the pick. I can't even sit here and be the critic that I would love to be because that's a really good comparison.
01:44You know, if I were to make a comparison, you know, if I were to make a comparison, however, if I'm thinking of Paige Beckers, I think of two players.
01:55I think she has a little bit of D'Angelo Russell.
02:01I like that. Okay.
02:03But I also think that she has a little bit of Devin Booker in her game, too.
02:09Ooh, okay. I like that. I like the Devin Booker comp probably more, but I like that a lot.
02:17I think, when I think of Paige Beckers, she can be the Devin Booker of the WNBA.
02:26That's what I see for Paige, right?
02:30She's got that pull-up jumper. She's got that ball on the string.
02:35You know, she can run a point if she needs to, like we can see with Devin Booker in Phoenix.
02:40But she's naturally an off-ball guard.
02:43So, I think when I say I see the D'Angelo Russell in her, I see the shiftiness that she plays with when she has to play point.
02:52And when I see the Devin Booker, I see the, oh, okay, so she has that quick, hee-hee pull-up when she's playing the two-guard.
03:02So, you know, I think that that's a, like a really nice mix if I were to compare her games to the NBA style of play.
03:11But that's, that may be a hot take for some.
03:14So, you know, got to shake the table a little bit.
03:18Got to shake it up. Can't give the same players that everybody else gives.
03:22So, ESPN actually said their comps, and I'll read them off to you real fast.
03:27I don't agree with any of these, but we'll see how you feel.
03:29So, number one comp for Paige Beckerson, based on ESPN, so don't kill me, Steve Nash.
03:37Number two, Jalen Brunson.
03:40And then number three, yeah, I didn't see Jalen Brunson at all.
03:44And then number three, Chris Paul.
03:48I just find it kind of hard that you basically got to compare all the point guards when I think your natural position is a two-guard.
03:54Sometimes I just wonder if ESPN would be watching the games.
03:56Devin Booker.
03:57Yeah, I like it.
03:59Devin Booker.
04:00I like it a lot.
04:01But tell us how you feel about this specific, you know, comparison.
04:05Who do you think Paige plays like?
04:07Because we were thinking about it for a little bit.
04:08There's a lot of different options.
04:10And for me, it's kind of hard to compare genders.
04:17Not that they can't be compared.
04:18But when you're comparing a WNBA player to an NBA player, somebody, let's say, because I know we talked about it.
04:24When you're comparing somebody to, let's say, Zach Levine in the WNBA, I need to see high-flying, athletic.
04:30And that just doesn't necessarily translate in how the game looks.
04:33So when you're comparing somebody in the WNBA to somebody extremely athletic and hit their head on the rim, you're like, oh, because they're the same level of athletic ability.
04:42Like, no, they're not.
04:43What are you talking about?
04:43You don't even agree with that.
04:44You don't even believe that.
04:46Like, why would you say it?
04:47So we would love to see what you feel those comments in are in the comments section down below.
04:52And we will see you in the next one.
04:53Peace.
04:54Peace.
04:54Peace.
