00:00Okay, thanks for joining us Sam. We were outside the Amex Stadium after Brighton's 2-2 draw against Tottenham.
00:06Brighton took the lead through an excellent goal for Yacou Mbinte.
00:11Yassin Ayari gave them the 2-0 advantage and it all looked to be going so well.
00:16They eased off a little bit. Richarlison pulled one back just towards the end of the first half.
00:24And then a Van Hecker home goal, very unapplicable Van Hecker, made it 2-2. Fair result or have you seen that?
00:32It's a difficult one. I don't think Brighton actually played well. I wasn't in the press conference so I'm not fully up to date with what Hertzler made of it.
00:39We spoke to Ferdie Cadilloglu who made his return and it was good to see him back. He was in good spirits after the bat.
00:46I thought he was well. Brighton was a really great start against a run of play that first goal I thought.
00:54It was great for Brighton to wait about the store. It was a lovely goal. Vincent Trout from the keeper.
01:00A really good move closer. So that was good to see. And then Brighton, again, a bit of fortune to go to Villar.
01:06It was a decent strike for Villar. I'm not quite sure what Mario was doing.
01:10Yeah, it seemed to have deceived him in the fight. It seemed like it should have been a routine save.
01:16Brighton was somehow tuning in off in a game that Spurs played well in.
01:20But Spurs did respond really well and they deserved to be back in the game at half-time.
01:26It was a poor time for Brighton to continue, obviously, right before the half-time whistle.
01:30And it was really just all Spurs in the second half. They did deserve at least the point.
01:35To be honest, they could have picked a winner at half-time.
01:38Yeah, it was interesting in the press conference after Terzella was saying that he thought it was only to be one team pushing for the third goal.
01:46But I think many people would probably disagree with that. I thought Tottenham...
01:50It was fairly even seen, but I think Tottenham just said, yeah, I think they're going to be good this season.
01:55They look a real handful though, I think.
01:58It's very physical and they've got so many options from the bench as well.
02:03Every player that came on, you saw all this in the game.
02:07Yeah, yeah. And they've got like Johnson to come on as well.
02:10You saw every player that came on, this could be a problem, this could be a problem.
02:14And Brighton just don't have that game.
02:16No, they couldn't see the problem with the ball. They were playing in the top of his hands here.
02:20Every time they had the ball, the problems in position, there was a lot of turnovers.
02:23Carlos Beléver had another performance up there. It was a hard time.
02:27But to be honest, it didn't improve much in the second half.
02:29There was just a lot of sloppy play in the park and they just couldn't keep hold of it.
02:35They couldn't sustain any pressure on Spurs.
02:38And it was allowing Spurs to come on to them and cause a lot of issues.
02:41There were some moments. I think Tottenham had a moment where he had a bit of a heavy touch.
02:45He ran away from him. I think Tottenham crossed the ball into Cadioglu.
02:49It was just a bit too far ahead of him. He couldn't quite get there.
02:53A couple of moments with Brighton, but I felt like they would probably snag Pan off for a point on the day.
02:58I don't think they played too well to Brighton.
03:01Even though they were 2-0 up, I think you're right. I think they just about deserved their point at the end.
03:05There was a lot of talk on Belieber in the press conference afterwards.
03:08Hooked at half time again. He's off the pace. He's sometimes not Brighton.
03:14No, it all seems to stem from this summer transfer link to Manchester United.
03:19And you can't say that it's head to be in turn, because that would be speculation.
03:22But something's not quite right.
03:25I mean, maybe with his fitness, maybe it's just...
03:27He said he was tired. He said he's only got 45 minutes in his tank.
03:32Yeah, it could just be something as simple as that, which is not quite at it at the moment.
03:37Yeah, it's a good turn. It's a good turn.
03:39Because I think when he doesn't play well, Brighton don't play well.
03:42I mean, so much does depend on Carlos Ben Aver.
03:45And that's why, when he was being linked to Manchester United,
03:47it was very much praying for advance from the Pleseride State.
03:51Because it could be really damaging when he's not there.
03:53So if he's not caught me, Brighton need to find some solutions.
03:57Obviously, a point today isn't the end of the world.
04:00But when you're 2-0 up, you don't need to have to drop a point today.
04:03I think so. I think it's that sloppiness in possession.
04:06That's what's prevented Brighton from being a decent team to a very, very good team
04:12that's going to challenge at the top end.
04:14They're just not ready. They're not as good as yet to challenge at the top.
04:18So they move on. In midweek, they've got Barnsley in the League Cup.
04:24And then after that, it's the small matter of Chelsea.
04:27So they need to recover, refresh and then get going for the Chelsea match.
04:31And we'll be at that one, Sam, at Stamford Bridge
04:34and doing all the previews on the Sussex World.
04:36But take a look at the Sussex World website.
04:38All the player ratings are on there.
04:39And we've got some great reaction from Fabian Nersella.
04:42And he also spoke to Bernie Kadjoglu.
04:44So that will all be up online in the next couple of days.
04:47Thank you very much. Cheers.
