01:05On the evening of September 11th,
01:08a family member of Tyler Robinson reached out to a family friend
01:11who contacted the Washington County Sheriff's Office
01:14with information that Robinson had confessed to them
01:18or implied that he had committed the incident.
01:20This information was relayed to the Utah County Sheriff's Office
01:24and seen investigators at Utah Valley University.
01:27This information was also conveyed to the FBI.
01:31Investigators reviewed additional video footage from UVU surveillance
01:36and identified Robinson arriving on UVU campus
01:39in a gray Dodge Challenger at approximately 8.29 a.m. on September 10th,
01:44in which he is observed on video in a plain maroon t-shirt,
01:49light-colored shorts, a black hat with a white logo,
01:52and light-colored shoes.
01:54When encountered in person by investigators in Washington County
01:57on September 12th in the early morning hours,
02:00Robinson was observed in consistent clothing
02:02with those surveillance images.
02:06Investigators interviewed a family member of Robinson
02:08who stated that Robinson had become more political in recent years.
02:13The family member referenced a recent incident
02:15in which Robinson came to dinner prior to September 10th,
02:19and in the conversation with another family member,
02:22Robinson mentioned Charlie Kirk was coming to UVU.
02:26They talked about why they didn't like him
02:28and the viewpoints that he had.
02:30The family member also stated Kirk was full of hate
02:33and spreading hate.
02:34The family member also confirmed Robinson
02:37had a gray Dodge Challenger.
02:40Investigators identified an individual
02:42as the roommate of Robinson.
02:44Investigators interviewed that roommate
02:46who stated that his roommate, referring to Robinson,
02:49made a joke on Discord.
02:51Investigators asked if he would show them
02:53the messages on Discord.
02:54He opened it and showed several messages to investigators
02:57and allowed investigators to take photos of the screen
03:00as each message was shown by Robinson's roommate.
03:04These photos consisted of various messages,
03:07including content of messages
03:08between the phone contact name Tyler
03:11with an emoji icon
03:13and Robinson's roommate's device.
03:15The content of these messages
03:17included messages affiliated with the contact Tyler
03:21stating a need to retrieve a rifle from a drop point,
03:26leaving the rifle in a bush,
03:27messages related to visually watching the area
03:32where a rifle was left
03:33and a message referring to having left the rifle
03:37wrapped in a towel.
03:39The messages also refer to engraving bullets
03:42and a mention of a scope
03:45and the rifle being unique.
03:47Messages from the contact Tyler also mentioned
03:50that he had changed outfits.
03:53I know there has been speculation as well
03:58as to the writing on those casings,
04:03those bullet casings,
04:06and I believe we have that as well.
04:10And I will share that with you now.
04:11So the area north of Campus Drive Road
04:17where the suspect crossed over,
04:19you saw some of that in the video
04:21that we released last night,
04:22consists of a grassy area
04:24with trees on the edge of the UVU campus.
04:27Investigators discovered a bolt-action rifle
04:29wrapped in a dark-colored towel.
04:32The rifle was determined to be
04:33a Mauser Model 98 .30-06 caliber bolt-action rifle.
04:38The rifle had a scope mounted on top of it.
