00:00Welcome to our Together at Christmas carol service here at Westminster Abbey.
00:13Christmas is one of my favourite times of the year.
00:16It is a time for presents, tinsel and mince pies,
00:19but it's also a time to slow down and reflect on the deeper things that connect us all.
00:24It is when we stop and take ourselves away from the pressures of daily life
00:30that we find a space to live our lives with an open heart,
00:34with love, kindness and forgiveness.
00:38So much of what the Christmas spirit is all about.
00:42The Christmas story encourages us to consider the experiences and feelings of others.
00:48It also reflects our own vulnerabilities
00:51and reminds us of the importance of giving and receiving empathy,
00:55as well as just how much we need each other in spite of our differences.
01:01Above all else, it encourages us to turn to love, not fear.
01:07The love that we show ourselves and the love that we show others.
01:11Love that listens with empathy.
01:14Love that is kind and understanding.
01:16It is love which is the greatest gift we can receive,
01:28not just at Christmas, but every day of our lives.
01:32Love that theys узнаw for the forgiveness of people will be blessed,
01:33as well as if you,
01:37theisser up there and the like,
01:38thank you.
