00:00As the sun goes down west of Alice Springs, emergency services are wrapping up their on-ground
00:07search for 26-year-old man, Geich, who's been missing for three days. Police say that they
00:13are concerned about sub-zero temperatures set to descend on the desert tonight. We spoke to police
00:18who said they are using a range of search techniques, including foot, ATVs, drones and
00:24helicopters. They will be continuing their search tomorrow. It's kind of bounded by the
00:30McDonnell ranges, so it does make it a bit easier in some senses, just in respect to where
00:35we might search. The area between the range area is quite flat, so that is helpful as well.
00:42However, it is populated by knee height grass, which does make it difficult for ground search
00:49teams to locate certain items as well. We also spoke to Geich's family, who
00:54described him as a kind and caring man, and has a four-week-old child at home.
00:59We are really hoping they can look at him, but it's very distressful at the same time,
01:08because now we are at the three, so we are really very happy.
01:13They are urging the public to come forward with any information.
