Wildfire rages through Hekpoort as lack of essential equipment leaves residents unable to fight flames

June has not been a kind month for those residing in Hekpoort, South Africa, and this distressing footage captures the reason why.

"A glimpse of the fire season in Hekpoort," the filmer, Lexi, told WooGlobe. "I saw the wildfire burning down a farm!"

Lexi shared that water scarcity in the area, combined with a lack of essential firefighting equipment, has left residents unable to contain the fires before they spiral out of control.
