00:00Lawyers representing Topwan Naima Abdul Khalid have expressed disappointment and concern
00:06over the decision by the Police and Attorney General's Chambers, AGC, to classify her police
00:12report against Prime Minister Datuk Sri Anwar Ibrahim and Malaysian Anti-Corruption Commission
00:17MACC Chief Tanshri Azambaki as no further action, NFA.
00:22The report, filed on September 30, alleged misconduct and abuse of power by the two
00:28officials, following a Bloomberg News article that claimed the M.A.C.C. had conducted
00:34politically motivated investigations, specifically targeting her late husband, former Finance
00:39Minister Tundaim Zainuddin.
00:42Lawyers Rajesh Nagarajan and Sachpreetraj Singh Sohanpal confirmed that they were formally
00:47notified of the NFA decision via a letter dated June 21, issued by the Central District Police
00:54headquarters. They described the decision as unacceptable, shocking, and contrary to the
01:00principles of governance and the rule of law, especially given that their client had waited
01:04nine months without receiving any substantive updates.
01:08The lawyers also questioned the timing of the NFA classification, noting that it came shortly
01:13after Naima filed a complaint with the Independent Police Conduct Commission, IPCC.
01:18They said the move raises troubling concerns about the integrity of the process.
01:24They further criticised the lack of transparency, stating that no details or findings from the
01:30investigation were ever shared with them or their client.
