00:00we've had 26 natural disasters in Kempsey since 2009 and even just today we have a council meeting
00:09where we're noting that we're going to waive interest rates for those affected by the disaster
00:13and have a few other I guess supports for those those people who are affected and that's part of
00:22what we do already because we are in such a natural disaster prone area but truth be told
00:28like we can't afford to waive rates we can't afford to forego income in terms of being a local council
00:34and moving forward local councils in particular are always strapped for cash we have a significant
00:41asset backlog particularly with our roads which has only gotten worse with all of the disasters
00:47that we've had so in terms of looking forward you know some of our businesses have built back with
00:53with tiles and things like that to make them more resilient and we're also doing a lot of work in
00:59terms of trying to bring our community back together post this disaster I mean we haven't
01:04been able to play sport for a matter of months it's been a really challenging time
