During an exercise in the Sea of Japan, the diesel-electric submarine Ufa (Project 636.3) made a covert transition to the designated area before launching two Kalibr cruise missiles. The first hit a maritime target shield, while the second accurately struck a coastal position in the Surkum tactical zone, in the Khabarovsk Krai, over 1,000 km away. The vessel was commissioned in 2022 by the Admiralty Shipyards (USC Rubin), notable for its acoustic stealth and detection capabilities, equipped with high-precision torpedoes and missiles.
