US senator says he was 'handcuffed' after removal from Trump official's press conference
US Senator Alex Padilla says he was 'handcuffed' after being forcibly removed from a room in Los Angeles when he tried to ask a question to US Secretary of Homeland Security Kristi Noem. 'If this is how the Department of Homeland Security responds to a senator with a question, you can only imagine what they're doing to farm workers, to cooks, to day laborers out in the Los Angeles community,' says Padilla, a Democrat representing California in the US senate.

00:13And so I came to the press conference to hear what she had to say to see if I could learn any new additional information.

00:27And so I began to ask a question. I was almost immediately forcibly removed from the room.
00:36I was forced to the ground. And I was handcuffed. I was not arrested. I was not detained.
00:46If this is how this administration responds to a senator with a question, if this is how the Department of Homeland Security responds to a senator with a question,
01:00you can only imagine what they're doing to farm workers, to cooks, to day laborers out in the Los Angeles community and throughout California and throughout the country.
01:30And I was forced to come and say, you can hardly hear your turn make my comments.
01:35And I'm, I know fully involved is something for me to ask for a question.
