00:00In Cuba, it was flooded with massive marches throughout the nation.
00:04The celebration at the José Martí Revolution Square in Havana
00:07was presided over by Army General Raúl Castro and President Miguel Díaz-Canel.
00:12Our correspondent Fabiola López with the information from the Caribbean nation.
00:19This May 1st, the square of the great events in Cuba
00:22was once again the scene of the largest parade ever held on this island.
00:27Images speak louder than words.
00:29Thus, flooded with joy, colors, and convictions,
00:32the José Martí Revolution Square in Havana was seen on World Proletariat Day.
00:41Anyone who thought that today the square would be empty does not know the Cubans,
00:45who in any circumstance, for centuries have been fighting against obstacles,
00:49and the biggest one is imperialism.
00:51I am here because I have a daughter, a granddaughter,
00:54because this is betting on hope.
00:55It is betting on the continuity of the social project that Fidel bequeathed us.
01:00And, it is our duty to defend it.
01:06More than half a million Cubans marched against the blockade,
01:11returning fascism and genocide in Gaza.
01:13We came for Fidel, for the Cuban revolution,
01:19for the end of the blockade,
01:21for the solidarity with the whole world,
01:23and because no one is going to beat Cuba.
01:25Because we are a united people,
01:26no matter the difficulties,
01:28Cuba is a people of resistance.
01:29They demonstrated with a special inspiration.
01:37It is 25 years since Fidel Castro's iconic speech,
01:41in which he called,
01:42right in this symbolic place,
01:44to act with a sense of the historical moment.
01:46We are surprised and moved by the great national unity of the Cuban people here,
01:54and for us it is a great example of strength,
01:57resistance and...
01:57As the government slogans say,
02:03yes we can and with unity it is really a lesson we take away for our people.
02:07Everything indicates that despite the blockades,
02:16Cuba is not alone.
02:18More than 960 visitors from 39 countries
02:21wanted to witness what happened here.
02:23Nobody wanted to miss the event.
02:29This has been an impressive thing,
02:30the dream of all Latin Americans,
02:32of all brothers and sisters,
02:34the brotherhood, the solidarity.
02:36This is spectacular.
02:37I have no words for the emotion that this provokes in me.
02:44The moment is challenging and complex.
02:49Cuba is living the crudest hardships
02:51because of tensions in its economy
02:53flooded by extreme measures
02:54and in a complicated international scenario
02:56due to a renewed imperialist defensive.
02:59However,
03:00the Cubans are committed to bet on the best possible world
03:03that this island wants and deserves.
03:04It is the most possible that this island wants and deserves.
03:07Fabiola López, Telesur, La Habana.
03:09Absolutely.
03:11Thank you, everybody.
