Rescue dogs in Bangkok search and comfort after quake

From sniffing for signs of life beneath a mountain of rubble to easing the emotional toll on families, rescue dogs at the collapsed building site in Bangkok shifted roles on Wednesday (April 2), brought in to offer comfort as the search entered its fifth day. Susan Redmond, a senior K9 handler, told Reuters that the dogs give "relief" to people. - REUTERS

00:26Our dogs are well trained in such that we can use them for dual purpose.

00:27So their job is search and rescue, but in a situation like this where they're not working

00:28because we're waiting for their instructions, we can also use them for emotional support.

00:29A dog has amazing powers, and touching a dog really gives some nice relief for people,

00:30so it's a good emotional support.
