00:00I'm here at Bundle on the Gold Coast and just behind me there's a whole heap of Energex
00:07workers working to get a downed power line back online.
00:13They're one of the many crews that are working across the Gold Coast to get power switched
00:18on to the city.
00:20There are still 200,000 customers in South East Queensland that don't have their power
00:27restored.
00:29And that loss of power is also having an impact on mobile and internet services.
00:35Chatting to Telstra and Optus, they can't get their mobile base sites back online if
00:41they're without power.
00:43They do have some generators in place but that power outage is still causing an issue.
00:50And the outages are having a real flow on effect to the community.
00:54I just spoke to a woman here who was confused about when power would be going back on.
01:00She said she has got no power to her fridge so her food has gone off.
01:06And there's just a lot of questions about when life will get back to normal.
01:12I spoke to another man about how the power outages have impacted his business.
01:18It's huge on everybody because the businesses have no revenue and that's what drives
01:24everything so the fixed costs go on so it is a huge impact.
01:29We're lucky today we've been able to open at the Sunshine Coast so we'll just gradually
01:33get back into it.
01:35At this stage it's just a wait and see for many Gold Coast residents to see when their
01:40life will return to normal.
