00:53And we wrote the role for her, so it's a good thing she said yes to playing it,
00:57because it would have been difficult to cast somebody that could fill her shoes.
01:01Chris is a favorite performer of ours, of course.
01:04We really value the length of time we've been able to collaborate with him.
01:08Chris Pratt is as funny as anybody you ever encounter,
01:11but he can also create a real depth, an emotional depth, an emotional complexity
01:17as good as any actor out there, so he's, you know, there you go.
01:22Man vs. Robot is the theme of the movie that is set in the 1990s.
01:27What part of the 90s did you miss that you wanted to bring back via The Electric State?
01:31I love the music of the 90s. I still listen to it. More than I think any decades' music.
01:37People get detached from reality because of technology nowadays.
01:40It's true. It's getting even worse.
01:43So the movie has a very clear message.
01:46What do you want people to take away from the movie?
01:50Be kind and stay connected to each other on a human level.
01:55I think that's the most important.
01:58I don't think life is necessarily that complicated.
02:02You can see a shift away from kindness, and I think that's because we're disassociating,
02:07because we're stuck in our phones, and we're addicted to social media,
02:11and we're addicted to hyperbolic conflict.
02:15You know, I don't think that's healthy for anybody.
02:18You have to stay connected to the people that are in the space with you
02:22and not disconnect from them.
02:24It's easier to disconnect than it is to connect, so you have to give the effort.
