00:00European Commission President Ursula von der Leyen has said there was no reason to de-risk
00:05Europe's decades-old relationship with the U.S. in the face of current geopolitical differences.
00:11Von der Leyen was speaking in a briefing to mark 100 days of a second term as EU Commission
00:16President. She insisted that the U.S. remained an ally.

00:32look at the common interests that we have, they always outweigh our differences. So I think it's
00:38important that we work together. We will have our differences. We have to sort them out,
00:44but we will have to find common avenues. Von der Leyen said her commission will start
00:49to hold regular security meetings to review the various potential threats facing the bloc
00:55in areas like defence and energy.
