00:00John, there's been a fair few special moments at Flatten Park since you came to this football club. Where is today ranked?
00:05It's right up there and it's definitely right up there as we stand in and talk now. I don't want to sound too clichéd and boring but it feels even better if we go and follow that up on Wednesday and again on Saturday.
00:17Those are the most important things as well that we don't take all the ecstasy of today and how well the boys have played and how brilliant it was to be here at Flatten Park and wasted.
00:25But certainly in the moment it feels like a massive win and it was just a brilliant, brilliant day.
00:29What was it like being down there at the final whistle and the atmosphere as well?
00:33The atmosphere all the way through the game was brilliant. The game has been built up quite rightly. It's two proper football clubs coming together and they're at different ends of the spectrum at the moment.
00:45But a side who I think emitted the Premier League quality coming here so the atmosphere was naturally going to be good.
00:51I think the way we went about our business in the second half meant that the whole stadium was absolutely rocking.
00:55We've had that plenty this season and actually showed plenty in the last couple of years but this season ranks right up there.
01:01Best performance of the season for you?
01:03I think so, yes. We've had some really good wins at home and I thought we were an exceptional away at Sheffield United without getting the award.
01:10It feels like it right now. I think Leeds are a top, top side. I think they're a Premier League scene in the making and to come here and do what we did is probably the best performance so far of the season.
01:25We've got to keep on top of that and keep going.
01:27A real team effort as well. Everybody just dug in there, didn't they?
01:30Yes, I think it was built on the physicality. We had to build the performance on how well we pressed and the effort that was put in and at times the press was broken.
01:39We had to recover to sprint, put the tackles in, put the headers in. I think we defended the box pretty well.
01:43Interestingly, I thought a couple of Leeds' better moments just came from us making some poor errors there as a judgment and then back inside the pitch, not winning tackles.
01:51But if we break it down, I think we've got 11 lads plus all the subs that have come on absolutely knackered and that's Sheffield.
01:59What was different about the second half?
02:01Well, I think we'd earned the right to be in the game, first of all.
02:05So, we spent a bit of time seeing how Leeds were going to play.
02:10Slightly different to how we'd anticipated with Gouevre coming into the side and Gouevre dropping into those left-back positions really well.
02:15So, we had to slightly adjust what we were doing.
02:17And then it was about taking that confidence from the first half where we'd limited leads to very few opportunities and maybe being a bit more aggressive.
02:25And to be honest as well, we had some really good opportunities in the first half on the turnover.
02:31We fell down on technical quality and it felt like in the second half when we had the opportunity to get a pass off or get a shot on goal, we were much better at doing that.
02:40You've had some phenomenal results here at Fraser Park as well.
02:44It's just another one that keeps going and going here.
02:46Yeah, we've got to keep doing that Wednesday night again.
02:49And in the meantime, that's not a concern in the next few days.
02:52I've said this a few times, but then think about how we improve our away from it.
02:55Because that would be the real difference, I think, in us being a bit more comfortable this season.
03:00And not because we haven't picked up enough points away from home.
03:02But in the meantime, we've just got to fully focus on that part.
03:05We know what a special place to play is.
03:07Everybody speaks about it.
03:08Everybody that's been here feels it.
03:09And we've got to keep going with that.
03:1142 points.
03:12How many more do you need to stay up?
03:13I'll keep on with looking at that 50-point target.
03:16That's what we're going to aim for.
03:18And if and when we hit that, we'll try and keep going as well.
03:22But that hopefully should see us safe this year.
03:24So that's what we're aiming for.
03:25Realistically, do you need less than 50 points?
03:28Who knows?
03:29I just think it's a really important point for us to, I guess, mentally be on top of ourselves
03:35and make sure that we don't think that we've cracked it.
03:38That was a slight frustration from last week.
03:41I don't know if this was the case or not.
03:42But I guess I leveled the accusation at half-time last week because we'd come off the back of three wins.
03:47We've got to make sure that we know that we haven't done anything that we shouldn't have done.
03:51And then we can properly look to reset and go again for next season.
03:55You've still got some good games coming for us to play.
03:59The fixtures are good at the moment, aren't they, in terms of quality opposition?
04:03I think every single fixture poses difficult problems in a different way.
04:10We've never had an easy game.
04:11Even when we've come here and we've blown a couple of sides away, there have never been easy games.
04:16The Swansea game sticks out.
04:17It's such a difficult game to prepare for.
04:19We ended up with 70 per cent being out of possession, sorry, 30 per cent possession.
04:23So they're all tough.
04:24They're all really, really tough.
04:25It's going to continue like that home and away.
04:27We just have to be right on top of ourselves.
