00:00Three big names, right and no disrespect to the other guys who hitting free agent.
00:04But what do they do with Paulson Devo?
00:06What do you do with Chase Young?
00:07And what do they do with Juwan Johnson, which John Johnson could
00:11go find a better deal on the market.
00:12Maybe he wants a fresh start.
00:14I mean, that's a potential possibility.
00:15You know, another new tight ends coach, if you will.
00:18Another new offensive system.
00:19I think that's something everybody's got to remember.
00:21And same thing on defense is that, you know, they're switching to the three four.
00:26I guess the first thing I would say, just chase young fit at three four.
00:29I guess that's because I've seen that a lot.
00:31And we talked about last show about that actually could benefit somebody like
00:34Carl Granderson and Isaiah Foskey.
00:36What about Chase Young?
00:38Yeah, it's an interesting one.
00:40I think so.
00:42I think he has the versatility to do it because he can rush as a stand up edge rusher while
00:46also being able to, you know, play down as a run sopping three four.
00:51And like, I think he has the versatility to do both of those things.
00:55I just don't know.
00:56I don't know if the production is worth the extension.
00:59Like if you were to do that or the re-signing, I think that's the thing that's really my
01:03biggest concern.
01:03You know, he felt like you rushed the passer better than he ever had.
01:06And his career was one of the quotes that he said during his time here in New Orleans.
01:10And look, he was a top 10, probably even top five pressure guy in the league at his position,
01:16depending upon whose metrics you're looking at.
01:18But five and a half sacks, like there's a big difference between pressures and sacks.
01:22And I know that like, we can't make everything about sacks, but somebody's, you know, if
01:28anybody's going to be the double digit guy, it's the guy that's playing that position.
01:32And if you're not producing that, then like, do you keep reinvesting in that?
01:37Or do you go and try to find the guy that can be that?
01:39And so, I don't know.
01:40I think he could fit it.
01:42It's just about, is the allocate, does the allocation of resources make sense if you're
01:47not going to get the production that gets the position paid?
01:51Right.
01:52Typically what we say is a million dollars per sack is usually the, is usually the, they
01:57end up until a certain point in which it, you know, once you get over like 13 sacks
02:01or 12 sacks or whatever, like you end up skyrocketing after that.
02:04But you know, a five and a half million dollar deal, is that, is that really what you're
02:07going to get with them?
02:08I don't know.
02:08I don't think so.
02:09So you might as well just, you know, see what happens and if it works out, then it works
02:14out.
02:14But otherwise I think you can find talent to continue to replenish that position.
02:18Yeah.
02:18And look, make no mistake about it.
02:20You know, again, last show, they do want to bring Paulson to Debo and chase young back.
02:25Like I know that they want those guys back in the building, but again, you look at Paulson
02:30to Debo's market.
02:31I think his best fit is to stay in New Orleans, but a team, if he does want to, again, another
02:36one, there's a fresh starts.
02:37Wanted to try something different.
02:38You know, what is their vision there?
02:39Does Brandon Staley want to use Elante in the slot and put Kool-Aid on the outside?
02:43Or is Kool-Aid going to the slot?
02:44And then Paulson's their, their number one quarter or corner, you know, quote unquote.
02:49And, you know, I know fans kind of one way or another on Paulson, as far as it goes,
02:54you know, I think his physical play and stuff, like everybody points to him in the Falcons
02:58game as all that stuff.
02:59But look, I think he has a home in New Orleans.
03:02It's just, what is his market?
03:03And I remember writing about that recently and just kind of saying, using some players
03:08last year.
03:09And I think that you could probably swing, maybe not a long-term deal, but maybe a two
03:13year deal for him and maybe get it in that 10 to $13 million range.
03:18That way he can still get another contract after this one.
03:21So I think that's a lot of times what you see.
03:24A lot of these guys do one year, two year deals because, okay, they got a little bit
03:28there.
03:29Now, maybe they're trying to secure the bag a little bit later and that could happen.
03:33Look at what happened with Zach Vaughn.
03:34So what do you, what are your feelings on Paulson Adibo?
03:37Yeah, I'm right there with you.
03:39And it's funny because Paulson's also one that we're like, I could see him going out
03:42there and commanding seven, 8 million.
03:44You know what I mean?
03:45I could see there being a market for him on that because that, that, that femur injury
03:49is so rare and it's one of those injuries that like every person that I've talked to
03:56about that injury has been like either inside the facility, outside the facility has been
04:01like, yeah, it's just kind of one of those injuries feel like once that's surgically
04:03repaired, it's stronger than it was before.
04:06And it's not really like a risk of re-injury situation, you know?
04:09And so it makes it really challenging to project what's going to happen with him.
04:16But I think you're right.
04:17Like, I think that, I think that he ends up being a player that could take a more cost
04:26effective deal to stay in new Orleans, go out there, perform once again, because I mean,
04:32if he plays a full, let's call it 15 game season in 2025, he's going to put up numbers.
04:39Like he's going to do well.
04:40He gets interceptions.
04:41Like he finished, then he finished the season, still tied for interceptions on the team with
04:44three, him and Tyron three crazy.
04:47Yeah.
04:47And he played like half the season.
04:49Yeah.
04:50And then he's got like, he's always at the top of the NFL when it comes to things like
04:54forced incompletions and past breakups and things like that.
04:56Like the dude produces like, yeah, he gets flagged, but you got to wonder if he gets
05:00less flags in a different Jersey and everything like that.
05:03And so like, does he want to figure that out in 2025 or does he want to come out here back
05:07to new Orleans, do what it is that he knows that he can do.
05:10It will be a new system.
05:11So that might factor into, but ideally, you know, I mean, Brandon Staley still wants physical
05:17man corners on the outside that can transition to zone that have the smarts that can pattern
05:22match and Paulson Adibo's wide receiver experience can give him that.
05:26Like, I think he'd still be a good fit.
05:28So yeah, if he wants to show up in new Orleans again and play well, and then potentially
05:32hit the market next year, that works for him.
05:34And it works for new Orleans because that's a potential third round
05:36competitory pick in 2027 in that case.
05:38So like it's, it's all an exchange.
05:41Yeah.
05:41And of course they got new coaches on that side of the ball.
05:44No longer, you know, Joe Woods in, in Marcus Robertson, but Joseph comes in there.
05:50I don't know.
05:51You know, it's just one of those that you start looking at some of the ties and look
05:54at some of the things, you know, what, what could happen.
