00:00We have a break this weekend for some, and then two more systems stepping in next week for California.
00:05And again, it'll be early this weekend when the snow still moves through parts of Colorado and into New Mexico.
00:10But overall, there's the snow with this current storm.
00:13Southern Idaho, northern parts of Nevada, into Wyoming.
00:17Very heavy, widespread, steady snow for some.
00:19And there's some lightning mixed in here, too.
00:21Now on the valley floor near Grand Junction, it's mainly rain.
00:24You get up into the mountains, it is a snowy setup here.
00:26And now the areas of the plains and to northern Nebraska and across most of South Dakota,
00:33western and central parts of the state, beginning to see that snow pick up.
00:35And it's been falling for several hours here into Nebraska.
00:38So this is a system that's going to be moving east.
00:40But the impacts farther east will be a little bit less impressive.
00:44So again, there's a warm front extending out of this, and that's bringing us some of that moisture into the plains.
00:49So current temperatures, it's chilly in advance of this, but not frigid.
00:53Areas like Scottsbluff, still 39.
00:55But up into Rapid City, you're at 28, with widespread snow falling.
01:00Down into areas around St. Louis, you're holding at 50, which is not far from average, historical average for this time of the year.
01:05So again, there's chilly air in place.
01:07And tonight, the timing of this coming through northern Nebraska at night will help most of this accumulate pretty significantly.
01:14Your Valentine, we're forecasting four to eight inches of snow in Valentine itself.
01:18Winter storm warnings for many areas in Wyoming, the high ground of Colorado.
01:23This is a storm that's passing too far north of Denver to bring you much snow in Denver, though.
01:27It's a down-sloping, drying wind in Denver.
01:30So areas farther north into Wyoming, Nebraska, southern South Dakota doing much better for snow.
01:35And into areas around Grand Island, we're going to see some snow move in.
01:38Areas around Des Moines, a little bit of snow with this one, an inch or two,
01:42but nothing like the blizzard that you experienced with that tenacious wind recently back on Wednesday.
01:48So your snowfall forecast, again, we have many areas with over a foot of snow in the highest elevations.
01:52Also, parts of Utah doing really well there.
01:54The snowbirds love this.
01:56And then up into northern parts of Nebraska, we're looking at six to 12 inches of snow in far northwestern Nebraska,
02:02three to six for others, and then one to three inches into Des Moines.
02:06Specifically, Des Moines, we're actually playing it as one to two inches,
02:08kind of hedging toward the lower end of that one to three inch range, beginning at 9 p.m. until 6 p.m. on Friday.
02:14So there's the narrow stripe, and it really does skinny out as we move down into areas around Interstate 80
02:20into Ohio and maybe south of I-80, closer to I-70.
02:24But into Saturday, a couple of snow showers and flurries, chilly air, and then that gives way to a big warmup.
02:29So, Damien, breezy and mild, the trend is our friend here from 43 to 65 in Rapid City.
02:35Chicago, 37 with that snow tomorrow mixed, 54 come Sunday in the Windy City.
02:40I'm just going to say, if there's any region that deserves this kind rebound, we're looking at it.
02:46We're looking at it, yeah.
02:47Exactly.
