00:00Peter Westerman, 89 years old. I joined the railway when I was 14 in 1950 in Leicester
00:11and my first job was as a cleaner at the Great Central and from a cleaner I became a fireman
00:19and then many many firing experiences, some with a Flying Scotsman on the express trains
00:29to London or Manchester or wherever and they were the happiest days of my life and I still
00:36remember them all and they are part of my life today and to come here today, to go on
00:45the footplate was seriously to me like being in heaven and the people here are so friendly,
00:53they're so happy, to me I'm so happy it is beyond belief and I bless everybody here.
