00:12Kuciak had been investigating possible government corruption, among other issues, when he was
00:17killed in his hometown at the age of 27.
00:21Major nationwide protests erupted after his killing, which led to the collapse of a coalition
00:26government headed by Robert Fietsoe.
00:30Fietsoe has since returned to power after his leftist SMER party won a parliamentary
00:34election in 2023.
00:38The protest is part of a wave of anti-government demonstrations against his pro-Russia policies.
00:45The protests started in December after the Slovak premier visited Moscow to meet Russia's
00:50President Vladimir Putin in a rare visit by a European Union leader.
00:56Since his return to power, he has ended military support to Ukraine, criticized EU sanctions
