00:00AI Voices is one of the newest aspects of Artificial Intelligence in this day and age.
00:06AI Voices refers to computer-generated or digitally created voice or sound
00:13that can imitate the delivery and speech of a real person,
00:18as well as the voice of a specific individual.
00:21Create beautiful videos in no time with our popular and much-loved free video editor.
00:27AI Voices has a wide variety of uses,
00:30and it is used in various industries and in education,
00:34even in communication, advertisements, instructions, and podcasts.
00:39As technology continues to evolve,
00:42it is important to use it correctly and responsibly
00:45for the well-being of all people.
00:48What is the meaning of AI Voices?
00:50And how to use it correctly?
00:53That's what we're going to talk about this morning here at MIGL 101.
01:01RSP members, to understand more about AI Voices and its impact,
01:06especially in the voice acting industry,
01:09we have with us voice artists Roner Bon, Ony Zamora, and Ralph Ernest Francia.
01:15Good morning. Welcome to Rise and Shine Philippines.
01:18And welcome back to Rise and Shine Philippines.
01:21Thank you for being with us this morning.
01:23Here at MIGL 101.
01:24Well, we're going to be asking this question.
01:26What is AI Voice?
01:30AI Voice is a means of having technology copy or mimic your voices
01:39to be used for whatever purposes the user wants.
01:44So it could be used, let's say, for podcasts.
01:50For the past decade, it's been used.
01:52Podcasts? Okay.
01:54For the past decade, banks have been using it for voice recognition.
02:00Okay.
02:00So you just have to call the bank and they'll recognize you.
02:05So what we've seen in movies and voice recognition,
02:09you thought it was sci-fi, but it's really happening.
02:11It's become non-fiction now.
02:12Yes.
02:15It can also be used for live action dubbing.
02:20Okay.
02:20You just have to translate or mimic the voice
02:24so that whatever you hear, it's not like you're hearing a different person.
02:29It's the same person, but you're hearing a different language.
02:32But it's the same voice.
02:34Like other AI, this AI voice can be a threat to your industry.
02:40Is this a threat? Should this be supported?
02:43What's the stand of the voice industry here?
02:46Or voice acting industry?
02:49For us voice artists now, we don't see it as a threat.
02:55Okay.
02:56Because this is a very powerful tool.
02:58Because now that AI voices are emerging in this industry,
03:03we don't really see it as a threat.
03:05We see it as a big opportunity.
03:07Okay, how?
03:10Because of the wide range of uses of AI voices at this time,
03:14there are a lot of opportunities for voice artists to give voice to the AI.
03:21Because basically, AI cannot work without a human voice.
03:28So basically, what gives life to AI voices are the humans.
03:36So, it will work if there's a human who will give life, right?
03:43The emotions, the creativity of the human brain.
03:47So, it's not really a threat.
03:49I'm sorry, how can you apply the emotions on the part of AI doing its job as the voice actor?
03:56For me, let's say the voice of Doc Oni.
04:02I can be the actor, but he can hear the voice.
04:05So, there needs to be a human touch so that the acting is there.
04:09So, it's still dubbing, but the texture or the element of the voice will change?
04:15Yes.
04:15Okay, so in a way, it's still helpful.
04:19Because I'm thinking, I might be able to reduce the amount of washing I have to do.
04:24Actually, it's a tool. It's not a replacement.
04:26Okay.
04:27Just to make everything clear.
04:28There.
04:29Our voice artists shouldn't be afraid.
04:32This is just a tool to help us make things easier.
04:38But of course, the reactions were different at first.
04:42So, what was the reaction of most of the voice artists here?
04:46A lot are against it.
04:47Because they're saying, of course, their voices are now proprietary.
04:53Because since they have outputs in the past, materials in the past that can be used to mimic their voices,
05:00so people can now, let's say, just download a video of theirs from the past
05:04and then apply it to AI so that they can use their voices without them even knowing.
05:09But the thing is, with that mimicry of voices,
05:13it won't be able to get your voice print on point.
05:16Yes, it has parts that are the same, the same sound,
05:21but the delivery, the acting, the vibration, the cadence of the speech
05:26is entirely different to how you're going to say it.
05:30Let's say, how I'm talking right now.
05:32This is what AI Voice did to my voice,
05:35but delivery-wise, it's entirely different compared to how I read a certain script,
05:39compared to how the AI will read that script.
05:41Okay.
05:43So, at least we saw the different side and what could be supported and be welcomed with AI Voice.
05:50Ron, what was your reaction when you heard about the AI Voices at first?
05:53At first, it was a bit...
05:54Microphone, please.
05:55So, at first, I was a bit nervous.
05:57But when I found out that AI has wonders when it comes to voice artistry,
06:03I was amazed at what it can do.
06:05And as Doc Ony said, this is a tool that we can use
06:12to enhance our voices and also to expand its reach.
06:17Okay.
06:18Also, before we start the interview,
06:21you've mentioned about this event that you're preparing,
06:24VoicesCon 2025.
06:27Can you tell us more about this?
06:28Are we going to be talking about AI voice trends and innovations,
06:32different voice artists that you can see here?
06:34And those people are also into tech.
06:37So, tell us more.
06:38Yes.
06:38That's right, sir.
06:40VoicesCon 2025 is one of the biggest AI voice and voice acting events in the Philippines.
06:46So, voice artistry or traditional voice acting and AI innovation will join here.
06:52Wow.
06:52This event would include live AI voice demonstrations.
06:56How AI is used in dubbing, IVR systems, and localization.
07:00Then, AI voice business and career opportunities will be tackled.
07:03So, how to earn money using AI voice.
07:05And also, the future of voice acting.
07:07So, how voice artists can adjust when it comes to these new trends.
07:12And also, AI voice ethics and rights will be tackled.
07:16So, how to protect the voice of a voice artist during AI.
07:20And also, there will also be a networking with AI voice companies.
07:25So, it will be a part of the AI voice revolution through Creative Voices.
07:29So, this is the gathering of voice artists, AI developers, tech enthusiasts, and business leaders.
07:38And most importantly, we are the ones who are leading in this change.
07:42Both are the actors of the voice acting industry.
07:45And they joined together in realigning ourselves with the advancements.
07:52We want to know, maybe we can ask our RSP.
07:56What will be the future of AI voice?
07:59What are your thoughts and opinions on this?
08:02Doc?
08:05So, in the future, actually, in the Certified Voice Artist Program,
08:12we are incorporating now the AI voices, the how-tos of AI voices in the program.
08:22So, with that, we are equipping the future voice artists
08:28to learn the new technologies in AI.
08:35So, we will see that the future for the voice artists will be brighter.
08:44They will have more opportunities.
08:47They will have more knowledge in using AI.
08:51That will be our future in AI.
08:53They will learn to use the natural voice, incorporating it with AI.
09:02Things like that.
09:04Which I think is very important.
09:07We need to learn from our future voice artists to embrace the changes in AI.
09:14That's great.
09:16We have to adjust ourselves, adapt ourselves to the new kind of technology that we have.
09:22But nonetheless, words of encouragement for our future voice actors
09:29that it is still possible for them to be prominent when it comes to this while AI is there.
09:35Yes. Let's not be afraid of AI or AI voice.
09:39Because as we have discussed, it still requires a human touch.
09:43It requires human intervention when it comes to using it.
09:46It is a tool that you can use to make your life easier.
09:50Of course, as voice artists, we are required to be taking care of our voices 24x7.
09:59365 days a year.
10:01But through AI, it will make your life easier.
10:04And not only will it give you opportunities locally,
10:08but it could eventually put your skill set on a global scale.
10:14Because of course, we have platforms for AI that can hear your voice even in foreign countries.
10:21And so far, if that's what's going to happen in the future,
10:26then the future of voice artists is very bright.
10:29Especially if they have complete knowledge and control over the tool, which is of course AI voice.
10:36Okay.
10:37Maybe, what else?
10:40Once again, this is in...
10:42In March. So wait for it this March.
10:45Social media accounts so you can get more details.
10:48So let's like VoicesCon on Facebook for updates on when VoicesCon will be held.
10:55Alright, on that note, thank you so much for sharing your insights on AI Voices.
11:00We have this morning, Sir Ron Herbon, Doc Ony Zamora, and Ralph Ernest Francia.
11:06Thank you so much for being with us.
11:07My fellow artists, for the rapid development of technology,
11:11it's important for us to know not only how to use it,
11:13but also how to be able to be surprised by it.
11:16That's all for today's webcast here on MIL 101.
