00:00between the Government of Malaysia and the Government of the Republic of Turkey
00:04on government-to-government procurement and the terms of reference
00:08for the Joint Committee for Defence Products.
00:12As we have seen from these numbers of agreements and MOUs between us, this is rare.
00:20In our relations with most countries, I think today we have seen maximum sort of collaboration,
00:27which means our ministers, our bureaucrats and business companies
00:35have taken our commitment very seriously to execute the decisions that we have made.
00:43And I am also thankful to the various ministries and departments.
00:49They have strongly supported this endeavour.
00:55Of course, there is a long way to go.
00:58President Tayyip Erdogan has suggested that we should enhance trade investments
01:06beyond that figure of $5 billion to $10 billion, which is of course very ambitious,
01:12but I believe my colleagues and the commitment you have shown will be able to facilitate it.
01:20There is no reason why developing economies, emerging economies like Malaysia and Turkey,
01:27cannot increase this intra-trade.
01:32We therefore need to work in various fields, semiconductor, agri-commodities,
01:40electrical and electronics, food and beverage, and of course defence,
01:46which we must and defence ministers have shown the need to enhance collaboration
01:53to make it part of the ecosystem and exchange of technology.
01:59We have been extremely fortunate because your government, Mr President,
02:07has given that trust and confidence to our airport authority, MAHB Investment,
02:16to continue the collaboration with Stambul, Sabiha, Gokcen Airport,
02:20and we will certainly work hand in hand, as agreed, with the local authorities,
02:27local construction companies and management,
02:32because you have shown a spectacular success in both airline and airport management.
02:39Spectacular not only in Turkey, but also seen to be one shining example in Europe and in the world.
02:50I have always led my colleagues to seek that example.
02:55When I first began to follow Turkish development and know you personally,
03:02the Turkish Airlines was probably considered the weakest and the worst in Europe.
03:10Now under your stewardship, I don't know what you did,
03:15but you were able to transform that to be the leading airline.
03:23And the airport becomes one of the largest, the most efficient,
03:28and has secured so many visitors, just a major transformation of less than 10 years.
03:38So we will have to learn and share this.
03:42But beyond that, of course, in the energy with Petronas and related companies,
03:48health and digital and disaster management, as you have seen, will continue.
03:55This visit has been extremely meaningful, enriching.
04:00And for us, as I've said yesterday, you've been a dear friend to the family,
04:06and I think many Malaysians know you, have been observing your movements,
04:11your story, and taking your statements very seriously.
04:18Firm, resolute, strong, and clearly the expression from your strong desire
04:27for peace and justice in the world.
