00:06the modernization for the Philippine Coast Guard continues.

00:27After President Ferdinand R. Marcos Jr. reaffirmed his protection of the West Philippine Sea

00:34despite the limited equipment,

00:36the Philippine Coast Guard said that they will not be subjected to surveillance.

00:41Yesterday, the President insisted that only the PCG and AFP will continue their mandate

00:48in front of the continuous aggressive movement of Chinese ships in our Exclusive Economic Zone.

00:55We don't have the means to push them away.

00:57It's not good if we have an aircraft carrier with destroyer, frigate, and submarine

01:04that we will send there to push them away.

01:08We don't have that.

01:09If it's just a large number of ships, we are far from China.

01:15But our policy is that we will just continue to defend

01:20our sovereign territory and our territorial rights in the EEC.

01:27What is the mission of the Coast Guard?

01:29What is the mission of the Navy?

01:30To protect the territorial integrity of the Philippines.

01:33So that's what they will do.

01:35This is a continuation of modernization

01:38where some of the new equipment is expected to come under the administration of President Marcos Jr.

01:45This is the reason why President Marcos last year approved the acquisition of five more 97-liters from Japan

01:53and 40 more vessels that will be coming from France as well.

01:57I think the silver lining of the statement is, again, to inform the Filipino people

02:03that we are committed in carrying out our patriotic duty in the West Philippine Sea.

02:12This is the continuation of the protection of the PCG ship BRP Teresa Magbanwa

02:17in the China Coast Guard Vessel 3304.

02:20As of now, the PCG is maintaining the distance of the so-called Chinese ship

02:26of 105 to 115 nautical miles from the town of Sambales.

02:31Despite the high waves that reach 3 to 4 meters,

02:36BRP Teresa Magbanwa did not respond to the radio challenge

02:43to inform the illegal maintenance of Chinese ships in the EEZ of the country

02:48that violated the Philippine Maritime Zones Act, UNCLOS, and the 2016 Arbitral Award.

02:54Two more ships are being guarded, including the monster ship in the vicinity of Bajo de Macinloc.

03:01Meanwhile, the PCG was overturned in the statement of Sagip Partilis Rep. Rodante Marcoleta

03:08that there is no West Philippine Sea.

03:10This was mentioned by our President Bongbong Marcos in the last State of the Nation Address.

03:18This statement of a young man who aspires to be a senator

03:24is giving false information to our fellow Filipinos.

03:34is for us to provide correct information to our fellow Filipinos

03:40so that we can be united to fight our enemies in the West Philippine Sea.

03:44In 2012, the government officially used the term West Philippine Sea

03:50under an administrative order issued by former President Noy Aquino.

03:56Only a portion of our EEZ is in the South China Sea.

04:04that was signed by President Marcos Jr. last year.
