00:00Good morning Sheffield, it's Alistair from the Sheffield Star. I'm speaking to you from
00:03outside All Saints Catholic High School in Granville Road where the community
00:07is still reeling from the grievous news yesterday where a stabbing took place
00:11here on school grounds. A 14 year old boy is currently in custody and very
00:16sadly a 15 year old boy is is now confirmed dead.
00:20A 15 year old Harvey Wilgus has been named as the young man who has been
00:23killed in this incident and already there are flowers and cards. There's been
00:27a candle burning overnight outside of the school behind me. As well as that
00:30there have been tributes building outside of the Sheffield United grounds
00:33on Bramall Lane. It's understood that Harvey was a was a very large Sheffield
00:37United fan as well. This is a shocking incident that broke out yesterday on
00:42February 3rd when at around quarter past 12 news burst broke that a student had
00:46been stabbed here on the grounds triggering an enormous police response.
00:50Students and staff were held into lockdown and were given the stay put
00:53order here on the grounds not only here but in neighbouring Seven Hills schools
00:56as a precaution. Meanwhile dozens of police cars arrived here on the scene.
01:01The road was closed. We had video of huge numbers of people gathered outside of
01:06the school waiting to see what happened and as parents waited for news to see
01:10when their children would be coming home. Among the events in that very rapid hour
01:15after the incident was an air ambulance arriving on the ground but very sadly at
01:203.30 at South Yorkshire Police headquarters a press conference was held
01:24where it was confirmed that the 15 year old victim in this situation had died
01:28and a 14 year old boy was now in custody. All that remains in the meantime is that
01:33All Saints Catholic High will be closed today and as well as tomorrow that's
01:37February 4th and February 5th while police carry out their investigations.
01:40I'm here on today there is quite a lot of police tape inside of the grounds you
01:44can see officers crisscrossing the halls and the lit windows behind me. It is a
01:48dreadfully sad day here in Sheffield and the community is still reeling today and
01:54we are waiting for updates on this. It's a terribly sad case to have taken place
01:59here at Sheffield Secondary School.
