00:00Oh, the whole the gymnastics of the roster has been a thing for a while that quite frankly I get,
00:06I really do. And some people think that's giving Steve Kerr a pass, but every single time someone
00:13has called this radio station and been like, you know what he should do? I'm like, that wouldn't
00:17work either. Like the Warriors roster thing is not a Steve Kerr rotation problem, it's a talent
00:25problem. Agreed, agreed. So we can cry about the rotation all we want, but the rotation ultimately
00:32is reliant on the players in the rotation. And if you look at the players that they currently have,
00:38tell me what your eight-man rotation is that is going to suddenly make this thing better.
00:43Because you don't have Kaminga and you don't have Podds, they both would be in that eight-man
00:47rotation. You don't have Draymond. So now who do you have? You've got a bunch of players.
00:53Lindy Waters. Right, you've got Lindy and you've got Guy and you know Guy's been a nice little
00:58breath of fresh air. He's been fun to watch and you know energy and all that, but the rest of
01:02the players that you have in your rotation, none of them are world beaters and a lot of them won't
01:08be in the rotation once you get healthy. Ah, but guess who will be in the rotation soon? Tell me.
01:15If you listen to Michael Wilbon of ESPN and PTI. We got some fresh Wilbon? We got fresh Wilbon.
01:23You want to know who's coming to help save the Warriors?
01:27Here he comes. I'm afraid. To save the day. You want to hear it? I do.
01:34How bad do you want to hear it? Really bad, Mark. Don't make me beg for it.
01:39Please, Mark, will you play it? Here it comes.
01:43It's time to make the trade, okay? Warriors, Lakers. How many times I got to say this every
01:47day? Time for LeBron to be traded to the Warriors. I mean, let's just do this.
01:51Neither one of those teams can do anything as they are now. There you have it.
01:57And that's with the jaunty music, which tells me that that's like the last comment they do
02:02right at the end of PTI. Yeah, it feels like there's like a clown car driving through the room.
02:10Yeah. I'm here for it. Let's make it happen. As he opens the NBA trade machine for the first time
02:19today. Yeah, who do we got to give up to get LeBron? Well, so he's only making 48.7. All right,
02:25so Wiggins and Kaminga. All right. I think the Lakers are going to want. LeBron's got the red
02:30stop sign. Why? He has a no trade clause. Oh, he'll green light Steph. It loves him. It makes
02:36it so you can't really use the trade machine. Why? You can't put him into it because he's got the
02:41red. Well, just put the salaries up and let's pretend that LeBron would say yes. So let's just
02:46go with Wiggins, Schroeder and Kaminga. Okay. That gets us within, you know, who has to get
02:52thrown in. Got to go. Sorry, Guy. Yeah, that actually try this trade. Does it work? It's a
03:00win. Wiggins, Schroeder. He's been on LA already, right? He has. Yeah. And they liked him. I played
03:06the percentages because he's been on eight teams. That's right. Kaminga and Guy. Remember Schroeder
03:12was on the Laker team to beat the Warriors in the playoffs two years ago. There you go. He
03:15was super annoying. He was, he was super annoying. You were so mad. Oh my God. I was so mad at him.
03:21I hated watching him. He's flying into the second row when no one touched him.
03:27All of that stuff. Oh, that's right. That play on the sideline. You hated that Schroeder was,
03:31is a lightweight Chris Paul. We're all like all of a sudden he gets your Jersey and you're like,
03:36no, no, I like this guy. Smart player. Well, where's that Schroeder been? I haven't seen
03:40the same level of feist. He's he looks confused actually. And that's not the right word. Like he
03:46just, the style of play is not fitting him. Yep. Not yet. Not yet. And I don't know that it ever
03:53will. Well Wiggins, Schroeder, Kaminga and Guy what's funny is the John Hollinger analysis.
04:00The Lakers get worse by seven wins and the Warriors get worse by eight wins. So it's a lose
04:06lose lose lose. Neither team gets better. Each team gets markedly worse. Yeah. According to the
04:14John Hollinger instant analysis. Interesting. Well then we definitely should do it. Yeah.
04:21Steph and Draymond and LeBron just make the Lakers worse. Yeah. And so at least you got that,
04:28Oh, breaking news. The national baseball hall of fame class of 2025 is out. Yeah. I saw this. Yeah.
04:35Ichiro, Billy Wagner and CeCe Sabathia. That's it. That's it. Carlos Beltran did not get in.
04:43Apparently not. Well, cause I, and I know you're not a geek like me, but there's a guy named Ryan
04:48Thibodeau who has the baseball hall of fame tracker. I'm aware of it actually. And I looked
04:52at the tracker earlier today and it, and Beltran with 55% of the ballots counted was above the 75%
05:01Yeah. Well, he was tracking solid overnight. The Michigan votes came in and that was tough for you
05:09overnight. Michigan will get you every time. Did Ichiro get a hundred percent? Lucas,
05:15Randy, he missed being unanimous by one vote. Okay. Who are we? Don't yet? No, no. Whoever it
05:21is. Do not invite him on any show. That's literally what they're going for. Don't do it.
05:28Who cares what, what one person's ridiculous opinion is. Honestly, that person should have
05:36their vote stripped. And you know what? That person should also be stripped. That might be
05:42too harsh. Their vote should be taken from them. Many hall of fame voters who are very good looking.
05:48Yeah. So I mean, keep the clothes on. That person should no longer be allowed to vote.
05:53If you look at Ichiro, and even if like, if you want to combine his stats from
05:59when he played in Japan and here, he had like 75,000 hits.
06:06I mean, what do we have here? He had like 3,300 hits here in like four years.
06:11And just hall of famer. Yeah. But what do you do? I mean, this is, this is the subjective
06:18nature that we, that we use for this. I'm surprised you even like read that. Cause I
06:22know how you feel about halls of fame. You think that they're by and large kind of stupid. Well,
06:28they're not worth everybody getting all hot and bothered about. And especially if like,
06:33I don't mind the opinion you just gave where you're like, let's, let's, uh, you know, let's
06:40grab that guy's ankles and, and, uh, hold them upside down over the park bench because he doesn't
06:46cause he doesn't think he throws a hall of famer. The one that I can't stand
06:50is when a great player gets in and someone's there to scream about how they don't belong
06:56with a plaque in a hallway. Like who did something to your Cheerios this morning?
07:03Yep. Eli Manning is not, but shut up. Who cares? He won two super bowls.
07:12Why would it ever bother you that somebody got in? Why we gotta, someone's going to make a little
07:21mold of him and put it in a hallway, right? Let people charge entry and they're going to go look
07:27at it. Who gets hurt by that? Yeah. It, I mean, and people like Barry Bonds, for example,
07:35is in the hall of fame. Like a lot of his memorabilia is in the museum. He's just not
07:42enshrined with a bust in the hall of fame portion. That's lame too, right? That's yeah,
07:48that's completely lame, but we all get like up in arms about the silly things. Um, all right.
07:55Let's talk to Dave in San Jose. Cause I need a minute on the will bond. Like, let's just get
07:59this done. Let's have the warriors go get LeBron. It sounded to me like he was kidding. Was he
08:03totally kidding? Lucas? Was he kidding? You're saying no. No, I think he fully believes it.
08:09Oh, hang on. The music makes it seem like he's kidding. I know, but listen to the way he says
08:14it. It's time to make the trade. Okay. Warriors, Lakers. How many times I gotta say this every day
08:20time for LeBron to be traded to the Warriors. I mean, let's just do this. Neither one of those
08:23teams can do anything as they are now. Okay. So the one that gets me is, come on, let's just do
08:29this. It's like, do you actually think that, or do you just want something weird to happen?
08:35So I don't know. I don't know. I'd love to have Mike on to find out like, what is your actual
08:41opinion? And, uh, and, and, and do you think this would just be a fun side show or you actually
08:46think this would be good for both of these basketball teams? It would be bad for both
08:51basketball teams, but it would be an unbelievable side show. And you would have Steph and Draymond
08:58and LeBron with Kaminga and TJD. There's your starting five. Would Kaminga still be on the team?
09:04Oh, no, my bad. Yeah. Kaminga is on the move, but you, then you come off with, uh, I guess
09:09you got to play, well, you play Moses Moody at the four cause that's what we do now. And then,
09:14uh, you come off the bench with, uh, Pods and Buddy and Schroeder. No, Draymond. Schroeder's
09:19gone. Draymond could be the four. Draymond can be the four. And TJD is the five. LeBron can be
09:25whatever you want him to be. And you still have Kavon. Two, three. Yep. Your second unit would
09:31be Pods and Buddy and Kavon. And, uh, well, Guy's gone. Did GP2 make the team? GP2 sticks around.
09:38Stick him in there for some defense. Yeah. I like the trade. I like the move, Mark.
09:46All right. Let's go to, uh, let's go to Dave and see. Hi, Dave. What are you doing?
09:49Yeah. David says, Hey, um, I don't think the lawyer should be trading with any existing NBA
09:58team. What they need to do is look in the international marketplace, um, for, for recent
10:03Olymp, Olympians from France or Germany or China or wherever. Um, and, and acquire one or more of
10:11those players. Give me a name, David. I've heard this call before. I can't remember when and what
10:17show, but this call is definitely ringing a bell. Uh, is Uwe Blob still playing David?
10:23Well, I want to know, hold on. I need a name, David. I need a name. I'm stuck on Dave. I would
10:28love to know more about, I'm stuck on international marketplace, which is kind of more of like a
10:33baseball thing. Do you mean like all of those players you mentioned are drafted? They'd have
10:38to get one in the draft. They have to draft them from France or China or European leagues or,
10:47or Croatia or wherever.
10:52Right. So the countries they need to be looking at the next Luka, the next Joker,
10:58the next Wemba Myanmar, the next Yao Ming. Um, Dave, thank you very much. Let's get all three.
11:05Let's get the next Luka, the next Joker and the next Yao. I guess, I guess where I'm getting
11:11stuck. And, and just tell me, thank you for calling David. And I look forward to hearing
11:15that call on the roast in five weeks. I've heard that very call before. Really? Absolutely. Same
11:22guy. Same voice. Take international marketplace. Look, you're not wrong. That Yoka guy. He big,
11:30right. He plays some ball on it. Yeah. Wendy tall. Yeah. Luka can shoot. Yeah. How about, uh,
11:37Zachary Risha Shay? No, no. Totally. Yep. I guess what I keep getting stuck on is,
11:45is making it sound like in the NBA that that's like a whole separate deal, right? You draft
11:50college players, high school players. And then over here, like later this year, we're going to
11:55have a draft where you can go grab somebody from France. The NBA is an international game. These
12:01guys are all coming through in the exact same way. And, and in fact, largely it's why the NBA
12:07draft, I think sometimes struggles as a product because we don't know who these people are.
12:13We've never seen them play a lot of the guys who get picked early. Um, I'm not going to like
12:18disrupt his point though. If like, if the idea is that that's where the next warrior superstar is,
12:25maybe, maybe, probably it's not like nobody comes through college basketball anymore and gets picked
12:31in the top five, almost nobody, right? They're all, you know, either one and done maybe freshmen.
12:38Yeah. Maybe Europeans, but I'm just looking at, uh, some of these guys who are playing over in
12:44Euro basket. And I wonder if like one of them decides to come on over if they've never been
12:51drafted, how does that work? I think they need to be drafted. It's not like Yamamoto,
12:56right? Just like, okay. Warriors just like sign me to a max deal. I think the warriors
13:01thought they had them when they drafted smiley, smiling. Yeah. Smiley geach,
13:05koala geach. I'm also looking at the 2021. What'd you call him? Koala geach. Yeah. Koala geach.
13:15All right. We thought he had next. Did you have something to say?
13:21He's laughing too hard. Yeah. The 2021 draft class, uh, when they,
13:24the warriors got coming in Moses, I was just looking at the international prospects in that one.
13:29Franz Wagner played at Michigan. He's German and he went eighth overall after the warriors took
13:34coming a seven after the moody pick. There are a couple guys specifically upper in Shangoon for the
13:40rockets. Who's awesome. Yep. Turkish and Usman Garuba who the warriors ended up having and
13:46couldn't stick with the team anyways. Um, but really the only one they missed in that when
13:49they actually had a high pick was Shangoon. Yeah. Yeah. And I would not argue like coming is not a
13:55bust. No. Coming is not, you know what I mean? Would you rather have Wagner? I probably have
14:03Shangoon is the real one because I mean, he's, he's kind of the stretch big that you've been
14:08looking for. He was 14th in that draft. Shangoon went 60. Yeah. Would you rather have Shangoon
14:13over Moody for sure? Yeah, for sure. Well, Moody can play the four. I don't know if Shangoon can,
14:18he's more of a five and I, that's definitely a question for Steve is like Moody at the four.
14:25Have you found something or is it more out of desperation and necessity? It feels like it's
14:30more out of desperation. Well, I'll let him answer that. I mean, yeah, of course. I'm just,
14:35I'm telling you what it feels like. Yeah. Yeah. You know what he's going to say is what he's
14:39going to say. It doesn't mean it's necessarily reality. He's not going to say anything that,
14:44that puts Moses Moody down or could be perceived that way. And I do hope that you ask him the
14:50question about confidence and winning the chicken or the egg question about that because it's
14:56fascinating when you have a team that starts 12 and three and they look to have Supreme confidence
15:02and now that same group, mostly that same group seems to have their confidence in the crapper.
15:07Yeah. Yeah. No crap. We'll ask him. We'll ask him for sure. Moses Moody was one of only two
15:15warriors who scored double digits yesterday. Right. Right. And how much of that came in the
15:20fourth quarter that was largely unwatchable by you and many others? Yeah. Not a, not a ton of it,
15:26not a ton of it. Um, but yeah, he, he had a game high 32 minutes in the game yesterday.
15:34The only reason why I watched that fourth quarter is because my two year old demanded it.
15:38And uh, good for her. Her mother was not home. Okay. So we were watching hoop. She's like not
15:45going to be fair weather. She wanted to watch basketball for her basketball. I said, well,
15:49watch basketball, honey. You're like, this ain't basketball. I don't know what this is. Watch the
15:55green team. They're playing basketball. I don't know what the other team's doing. Yeah. So anyway,
16:01that's, that's where I'm at. When you, when you look at what, what you saw yesterday,
16:06I just, I wonder, I wonder if we're having a little bit of the wrong conversation, you know,
16:13and I get why, um, look, Steve Kerr called it a crisis of confidence. What if I called it a crisis
16:21of curry? You know what I mean? Like none of us have a chance when it comes to what's going on
16:27with the warriors. They don't. And we don't, our opinions cannot be valid. None of this makes
16:33sense. You know what I mean? I hate saying it this way, but when you look at what the warriors
16:40have said publicly, and then privately, what reporters are saying they're trying to do
16:45and what all of us are sitting here doing and watching, I think the bottom line is,
16:50is that we're in a crisis of curry. He's been too good. He's been too amazing. And you probably
16:57sitting there going, what the hell are you talking about? The bottom line is we won't let him go.
17:02We won't let go our thoughts about him. We won't let go of our opinions of him.
17:07We won't even entertain the idea of moving on from him. None of that. It's all a non-starter to us
17:14because he's been the greatest basketball player who has ever performed in the history of this
17:20city and this organization. And the answer can't be, well, Steph can just carry us to another ring.
17:32That's not the answer. But none of us are really willing to entertain any of the other stuff.
17:38So that's why I'm like, there probably isn't a good answer here. There just isn't.
17:44Well, the answer is-
17:45Get some more athletic young people around, be a more interesting product,
17:50see if you can make the playoffs and put him on TV more because he's fun.
17:55But stop this whole demanding a championship thing and screaming about general managers,
18:00who made the wrong move and all of this stuff. Stop thinking that if LaMelo ball was picked,
18:06we wouldn't be here. Yes, we would. He would have been the fifth guard on that team.
18:12So that's all. I don't know. There's no great answer here.
18:18Well, the real question is not how do you maximize the Steph Curry window,
18:25but it's not how do you maximize the Steph Curry window and make that championship number five.
18:30That's a good way to put it.
18:32If you want to maximize the Steph Curry window, what that really means is get a team around him
18:37that is young, exciting, and competitive. Because right now, this team is not that young.
18:44You've got a lot of veterans. They're not that exciting, unfortunately, when you don't have
18:49Jonathan Kuminga on the floor. And really, Mark, you're not that competitive. You beat Washington
18:55worse than the league. Then you played the defending champs and you got motorboated by
18:5940 at home. So young, exciting, and competitive. Can you start to do that at the deadline?
19:04You can. And if it's Cam Johnson, who's young and exciting and maybe makes you a little bit
19:10more competitive, I don't know if Vucevic fits the bill of young. He's not exciting. Not really.
19:18No, but you would be more competitive. I would agree with that.
19:21Score the ball more. And I think to me, that's fundamentally what gets hard is when the Warriors
19:27look like they're going lengthy periods of time and they just can't put the ball in the bucket.
19:30Um, he would completely change the spacing of the team, I think.
