Eight years after the first historic Women's March at the start of Trump's first term, marchers said they were caught off guard by Trump’s victory and are determined now to show that support remains strong for women’s access to abortion, for transgender people, for combating climate change and other issues. 00:00I'm here because I want the world to know that the majority of Americans do not support
00:20this administration and it's important for us to continue making our voices heard.
00:30So first and foremost it's the state of our democracy and of course a myriad of other
00:37issues women's rights being one of them and our bodily autonomy and our future.
00:45Well I'm here to protest the Trump administration he unfortunately won the election and so we're
00:57not going to react the same way the Republicans did four years ago but we still get a say
01:05as to what's going on in this country and this is the day to do that.
01:14The plutocracy mostly I think that kind of runs everything else I mean climate change
01:21women's rights reproductive freedom economics you know income inequality all these things
01:29are just you know there's a thousand issues going on that he's not going to help in any
01:34way shape or form and most importantly the economy.
01:38Trump is not enough you have to take action.
01:43No no please stop the bombs and the killing.
01:48I say people you say power people.
01:54It's hopeful to see a lot of people together I thought there were four locations aren't
01:58there and you know it's probably not going to be as big as a women's march in 2017 but
02:06it's going to be a nice crowd and I really hope that it inspires other people to resist
02:15and react and vote and get involved.
02:17I work for popular democracy I'm undocumented and unafraid and I'm here.
02:22I'm a grandpa and that's why I'm marching I'm marching for my four granddaughters and
02:27my four grandchildren and all grandchildren and all children because we need to make a
02:33statement against this incoming administration that's coming in.
02:42You know I must admit I rested on my laurels in 2008 I said oh Obama's in everything's
02:47going to be great and then three months ago I was sure Kamala was going to win and I said
02:52okay I can relax now but you know what we can never relax we got to stay active we got
02:56to keep fighting I'm going to keep fighting until the day I die.
