00:11According to the Chinese foreign ministry, both leaders discussed trade and TikTok in
00:16a phone call on Friday, the same day that the U.S. Supreme Court backed a law banning

00:21China's foreign ministry said President Xi congratulated Trump on his second term and
00:27pushed for improved ties.
00:29Meanwhile, an eight-member delegation from Taiwan departed for the U.S. on Saturday to
00:33attend Trump's inauguration ceremony.
00:36The delegation said they were focusing on strengthening U.S.-Taiwan relations as Beijing
00:41claims the self-governed island and vows to annex it by force if necessary.
00:47During the last four years, the U.S. under Joe Biden engaged in a measured approach over
