00:27He was trying to build a solar panel and construct a shed in his backyard.
00:31Took him way over a year to get the permits to build a shed in his own property.
00:37You may not cry for Bill, but what about the people trying to rebuild the homes they just

00:42They're stupid rules, and there's like five different departments you have to go through
00:45to build anything.
00:46It takes two years to get permits, a year and a half to build.
00:51But now the governor and mayor are saying they're going to make it easier for the fire
00:54victims.
00:55Newsom, Bass, they're all saying, we're going to cut red tape.
01:00As if they're doing us a favor.
01:01My question is, well, if you can do it now, why don't you always do it?

01:06And even without the red tape, how much faster will it be?
01:09We are going to have, what, 20,000 new homes being built at once.
