00:00When it's all said and done, I think there may be more words in the lawsuits between Blake Lively and Justin Beldoni
00:07than the script for It Ends With Us.
00:10It's true. He was working on this for like nine hours.
00:13Oh my God. So Justin Beldoni today filed the latest lawsuit in this ongoing battle between himself and Blake Lively.
00:22We would call it a flurry at this point.
00:24This one, nearly 200 pages, it is Justin and his production company, as well as his PR team,
00:32suing Blake, Ryan Reynolds, and Blake's publicist Leslie Sloan.
00:38It is a far-reaching, I mean he covers everything from the concept when he and Blake started talking about the concept of the movie,
00:47writing the script, the battles on the set, and everything after.
00:51To Taylor Swift's involvement in this.
00:53That is the new wrinkle here, that Taylor Swift makes a cameo in this lawsuit.
00:58She is not being sued. It is really...
01:01Although, I'm surprised he didn't throw her in.
01:04I mean, he's suing everybody.
01:06So in the lawsuit, Justin describes a meeting that he was having, this is before they started filming,
01:12a meeting that he had with Blake and Ryan Reynolds at their New York City penthouse.
01:17Can I just say, there was a conflict between Blake and Justin over what this movie should be.
01:22The book is really about domestic violence.
01:24She wanted to make it more about romance.
01:27And that was where the conflict started with them.
01:30So there's a key scene in the movie where their characters meet on a rooftop,
01:34and Blake had done a rewrite on it.
01:37So Justin goes over to their penthouse to sit down and have a conversation with her about it.
01:41He says that now he realizes it is more of an ambush.
01:45And the reason he describes it that way is, he walks in, Ryan is there,
01:49and Ryan, he says, gives his two cents and is saying,
01:53this is really amazing what Blake has done here with this rewrite.
01:57He's gushing about it, which you'd expect.
02:00And Justin says he takes that all in, they're there for a couple of hours,
02:03and then suddenly, there's a knock at the door, and Taylor Swift walks in.
02:08He doesn't say her by name, but when you...
02:11He does later, there are text messages later.
02:13There are text messages that connect the dots so that it's Taylor.
02:15Yes, and you're going to hear, because one of those text messages is from Blake to Justin.
02:20So he says, Taylor comes in and she says,
02:23isn't this great, I read the script, it's really amazing what Blake did.
02:27He gets the point.
02:28Justin says he understood what was being conveyed to him here,
02:32that you better do this the way she wants.
02:35So after the meeting, he texts Blake and says,
02:38I loved your script, and I loved it, even without Taylor and Ryan's input.
02:44And then she decides to write back to him.
02:46This is the text message, which is in the lawsuit.
02:49She's describing Ryan and Taylor's impact on her life.
02:54She says, if you ever get around to watching Game of Thrones,
02:57you'll appreciate that I'm Khaleesi, the queen,
03:00and like her, I happen to have a few dragons.
03:04Hold on, the dragons are Ryan Reynolds and Taylor Swift.
03:08For better or worse, but usually for better,
03:11because my dragons also protect those I fight for.
03:14So really, we all benefit from these gorgeous monsters of mine.
03:17You will too, I can promise you.
03:20So, this feels, you know.
03:24That's why he says it felt like an ambush,
03:26because it's like her dragons were there to protect her.
03:29Look, you don't want to step on Superman's cape,
03:32you don't want to spin it into the wind,
03:34you don't want to pull the mask off the Olon Ranger,
03:37and do not mess around with Ryan Reynolds and Taylor Swift.
03:40And do not mess around with Taylor Swift.
03:42I am stunned that it was included in the lawsuit.
03:44I don't think it was really essential to the claims that he's making.
03:48It's more of sort of background to see,
03:50this is who I'm dealing with.
03:52He calls Blake, and by extension Ryan,
03:55tyrannical in this lawsuit.
03:57And I think he's using Taylor to say,
04:00look, she didn't really do anything wrong on her own,
04:02but that's the kind of tyranny that was forced to act under,
04:05that they would bring in the heaviest hitter in the whole wide world,
04:08to kind of pressure me to do what Blake wanted.
04:11So Jason, I have a question for you.
04:13They're not suing Taylor, but they're suing Ryan Reynolds.
04:16Yes.
04:17What's different between Ryan and Taylor,
04:19that he gets sued and she doesn't?
04:21Yeah, I mean, this is, honestly Harvey,
04:23I've been with you now for 16 years,
04:25the longest lawsuit I've ever seen,
04:27with more claims and causes of action,
04:29than I've ever seen in a lawsuit in all these years.
04:31There is so much about what allegedly,
04:33later in the lawsuit after this,
04:35that Ryan and Blake did,
04:37I think forcing he and his company,
04:39Justin and his company,
04:40to make substantive changes to the entire movie,
04:44and then force him out as a participant,
04:48As a director.
04:49As a director, as a participant,
04:50as a producer, as a participant in the publicity.
04:52So the financial losses that he suffered,
04:54are really Blake's number one, Ryan's number two.
04:57Taylor was more sort of, I don't know,
04:59in his thinking, a pain in the ass basically.
05:02Yeah, that's the way he describes it.
05:04By the way, there are some things that,
05:06I think when people, if you read this,
05:08you might feel like, well that's kind of petty,
05:10but he put it all in there,
05:12like I said, almost 200 pages.
05:14He said that when they were sitting down
05:16to talk about Blake's character,
05:18he said, she hadn't even read the book at that point.
05:21And in fact, he says, during that discussion,
05:25Blake was Googling to find out her character's hair color.
05:31Because she hadn't read the book at this point,
05:33so she had to Google to find out her hair color.
05:36So wait a minute, I kind of get it if that's true.
05:39So she read the script, not having the context of the book,
05:44and that's why she's thinking,
05:45oh, I can just change the script,
05:47not realizing it totally deviates from the book.
05:49That's his allegation in the lawsuit, certainly.
05:51By the way, $250 million against the New York Times,
05:54$400 million in this lawsuit.
05:57That's what he's seeking.
05:58$400 million?
05:59$400 million.
06:00Hi, I'm Tina from Syracuse, New York,
06:02and $400 million is a statement.
06:04Justin's not backing down.
06:06The receipts keep coming,
06:07and I just have to think,
06:09someone that likens themselves to Khaleesi in Game of Thrones
06:13and Taylor Swift and Ryan being their dragons
06:15might not be the most self-aware person in the room.
06:20So it seems like she doesn't realize
06:22that her poor image really had a lot to do
06:24with this press tour.
06:26She could have uplifted voices of domestic violence,
06:29which is the book.
06:30I mean, it is the book.
06:32I know she didn't ruin it,
06:33but she had that opportunity,
06:36and it was just so low on her priority list, unfortunately,
06:39and here we are.
06:40The battle continues.
06:41I got to say, this is a 200-page lawsuit.
06:43You just made as compelling a case
06:46as the lawsuit with what you just said.
06:48You really did.
06:49That was really good.
