00:00Aside from the new design, the new polymer notes of the Central Bank of the Philippines have features

00:06that can help those with disabilities, particularly those who are visually impaired.

00:21That's why he discarded it so that he won't be fooled by the money of his customers.

00:32I said, I will discard that P500, it's already in my pocket.

00:35One of the features of the new money polymer that the Central Bank of the Philippines released

00:40is the tactile dots on the top part of the money.

00:44This will serve as a guide to those who are visually impaired or blind,

00:48just like P50.

00:51It has two dots that can be touched.

00:54For P100, it has three dots and four dots for P500.

00:59For P1,000, it has the same feature where five dots can be touched.

01:05The printing of animals with the money is also embossed.

01:10But the new feature is the floral clear window and vertical clear window for P500 and P150.

01:18A metallic wave was also placed for P1,000 and P500 so that it won't be stolen.

01:24The endemic and endangered animals of the country are also highlighted.

01:29For example, for P1,000, you can see the Philippine Eagle,

01:33Visayan Spotted Deer for P500,

01:36Palawan Peacock Pheasant for P100,

01:39and Visayan Leopard Cat for P50.

01:43But the old designs of the money, like Mayon Volcano,

01:49Tubbataha Reef, Taal Lake, and many others, were preserved.

01:53For public awareness as well, we want to promote more public awareness and environmental responsibility.

01:59One of the features of Polymer Money is that the virus and bacteria don't last long here.

02:05In Polymer, experts have studied that the virus and bacteria don't last long in a polymer banknote surface because it is non-porous.

02:16BSP also did not make Polymer Money for P200 because according to BSP's study,

02:22almost no Filipinos use it.

02:25The preference of the public over leaning towards either the use of P100 or P500.

02:40BSP has also minimized the use of new Polymer Money as long as it is not listed.

02:50BSP has promised that new Polymer Money will not be confiscated because of its security features.

02:58According to the Central Bank of the Philippines,

03:00starting on Monday, December 23,

03:02they will issue new Polymer Money worth Php 1,500 to Php 150.

03:09BSP will produce around 70 to 90 million pieces just for the Greater Manila Area.
