00:27This is the Visayan Leopard Cat, also known as Maral.

00:31It can be found in Negros and Panay Islands

00:34and is considered vulnerable or endangered in the IUCN Red List of Threatened Species of 2008.

00:52It is a rare and common hobby in the Philippines.

01:03Aside from Php 1,000 where the Philippine Eagle can be found,

01:07the Visayan Spotted Deer can be found in the Php 500 bill.

01:42And if they do get dirty, you can easily wipe them off with a damp cloth

01:58Another key advantage is security.

02:01Counterfeiting has always been a problem for economies around the world.

02:05But polymer banknotes are a notable progressive change.

02:10Their advanced security features make it more difficult to replicate.

02:14Starting on December 23, new banknotes can be obtained from banks.

02:19But this is limited to the Greater Manila area.

02:22In January, the circulation will be expanded to the whole country.

02:26According to the BSP, old paper money can still be used.

02:30This is a counterfeit. You cannot sell it.

02:32This is plastic, so it will really be damaged.
