00:00What did you think of those games last night?
00:05And then I want to ask you about the Toronto Montreal rivalry through the years growing
00:09up in Montreal.
00:11What did that mean to you?
00:13And what did it mean to everybody else?
00:16You know what?
00:17It's the most overrated rivalry in modern sport.
00:20The like growing up and like the Toronto Maple Leafs haven't won a Stanley Cup since 1967.
00:28And for the most part, like this is the most successful the Leafs have been recently.
00:33Like the Leafs get called out for being a dominant regular season team and failing in
00:37the playoffs.
00:38Dude, they used to suck in a regular season too.
00:41Like most of my life, the Leafs have sucked.
00:43The Montreal Canadiens real rival are the Boston Bruins.
00:48That's the team that the fans hate the most that there's like, you know, it gets nasty.
00:54Like it used to be the Quebec Nordiques as well.
00:56The Leafs is sort of a media one.
00:58It used to be a rivalry in the original six days in the fifties and stuff and you know
01:02what I mean?
01:03Fine.
01:04Right.
01:05But in the modern era, it really isn't.
01:06It's still special.
01:07The media hypes it up.
01:08You know, it's the, it's the Yankees Red Sox, bro.
01:10You know what I mean?
01:11That's what it is.
01:12It's the media loves it.
01:13It's the two media markets, French versus English.
01:16Like it's the old school sort of rivalry, but I'll tell you what, the Canadians have
01:20gotten the better of the Leafs, even though the Leafs have been the better team over the
01:23years recently.
01:25It's another one of these deals where it's like Auburn, Alabama, if you're going to win
01:28one game, beat the Leafs, like the Canadian fans, you know, they like to beat the Leafs
01:33still.
01:34I still, you know, a little bit of a rivalry, not like it really was, but the Canadians
01:38do get up for, Canadians are a good home team.
01:41Martin St. Louis, their head coach is very, the former Tampa Bay Lightning, great Hall
01:46of Famer.
01:48He's sort of there.
01:49They want to win, but he's about entertaining like, you know, he's like, listen, he kind
01:53of told people we're rebuilding, but this is Montreal.
01:57We can't just be a boring hockey team.
02:00So even as we rebuild, we sort of have to entertain and score goals.
02:04And the Canadians can score goals if they can figure out how to keep the puck out of
02:07the net.
02:08I think they could be a playoff, not a contender in the playoffs, but flirt with the playoffs
02:15to get into the playoffs.
02:16You know what I mean?
02:17Like battle to get into the playoffs type of deal this year.
02:20I still think they're a year or two away, this Habs team, but I think they are live
02:23dogs tonight.
02:24Scott at plus 150.
02:25Now you got other ones too.
02:28How about the game where you are, Calgary and Vancouver?
02:33I'll tell you what, there's a lot of, a lot of excitement about this Vancouver Canuck
02:37team this year.
02:38I was excited last year and I knew people were sleeping on them.
02:42And last year, guys, their win total was, I think it was 90, 91 and a half, 89 and a
02:47half, 91 and a half.
02:48They smoked it.
02:49They lost 109 points last year.
02:51This year, their win total is 99 and a half.
02:54For the record.
02:55I think they're going to go over again because even if they win a couple of less games than
02:58last year, they'll still go over this number.
03:01But they're a good hockey team.
03:02Scott Rick talk.
03:03It's one of the best coaches in the national hockey league point blank.
03:06One issue for the Canucks.
03:09They lost a couple of guys, but I think they did a good job of replacing them.
03:14Thatcher Demko, their goalie is out.
03:17He's got a prolonged injury that they can't figure out.
03:20And it's like, literally they said it's one of these one in a million deals, like McCaffrey.
03:23They got Demko flying around from Switzerland and all these doctors and what should we do?
03:29And they all say, listen, it's just a time thing.
03:31So Demko is going to be out, but he lost a good goalie.
03:34They bring in Lankan in as well.
03:36I think the Canucks are going to win tonight.
03:38They're minus 200.
03:39It's a little pricey.
03:41If you want to play the puck line plus one 25, I don't have a problem with it, but let's
03:44throw something out here.
03:45Guys, the Vancouver Canucks are very fast starters, all right?
03:49These guys score goals in like the first minute of the game, first two minutes of the game,
03:53a lot.
03:54So let's go.
03:55Will there be a goal scored in the first 10 minutes of the game tonight in Vancouver?
03:58I say, yes, there will be.
04:00The Canucks are going to score first in the first couple of minutes.
