00:00In 1920, one of the most acclaimed voices of Portugal was born, Amália Rodrigues.
00:09Our Amália Living Experience is the first immersive exhibition dedicated to the icon
00:15and shows us the Fado singer as we have never seen her before.
00:19The 25th anniversary of Amália's departure will be celebrated on the 6th of October.
00:26The main objective of this experience is to celebrate Amália,
00:31to pay homage to Amália in a very contemporary language.
00:35I dare to say that this is probably the most contemporary,
00:39the most revered homage ever made to Amália Rodrigues,
00:43exactly because we want her not to be forgotten
00:46and to help to introduce Amália to all kinds of audiences, especially the youngest.
01:00To get to know Amália is exactly to get to know these various dimensions of Amália.
01:04Amália is much more than the queen of Fado, the voice of Portugal.
01:07Obviously we owe this to her and Fado is what it is today,
01:10thanks to Amália, who took the Fado of the streets of Lisbon to the big international stages.
01:15But Amália is inspiration, Amália is poetry,
01:19a woman who wrote very well, who sang genuinely,
01:22a woman who was very sophisticated for the time,
01:25very ahead of her time.
01:27And we wanted to bring all these aspects,
01:32because I think they are all conjugated that make Amália the great diva that Amália is.
01:37Through eight interactive rooms, the exhibition features the artist's estate,
01:42virtual reality and even a full-scale hologram of Amália,
01:46performing on one of the world's most well-known stages, the Olympia in Paris.
01:53An immersive experience about the life and work of the artist,
01:57to meet here in the Lisbon neighborhood of Marvila.
