00:03 We run down Stray Kids' history making music.
00:06 Take you to see N-Hypen in LA.
00:08 Head in the clouds, heads to New York.
00:10 And catch up with the cast of The Wiz.
00:13 Happy Friday! We've got tons to get into in today's Billboard News,
00:20 starting with our Friday Music Guide.
00:29 Megan Thee Stallion levels up on BoA.
00:31 And is that a Gwen sample I hear?
00:33 Ice Spice takes things higher with "Gimme a Light."
00:42 I love festival season and this weekend is a good one.
00:52 Head in the clouds is going down in New York City and they've enlisted some epic acts.
00:56 From G-Idle...
00:59 Lady, lady, call me Super Lady.
01:02 To Joji...
01:03 Can you stick around for a minute 'til the rain stops, please?
01:07 Head in the clouds is bringing the party back to New York City with a stag lineup of Asian talent.
01:12 Atarashi Gaeko will take the stage again this weekend
01:19 when Head in the Clouds returns to Forest Hills Stadium in Queens.
01:22 In addition to them, Bebe is set to make her NYC debut.
01:26 I do it in Las Vegas.
01:30 Also making their NYC debut is Drew.
01:33 I've played the LA version of the festival before and the crowds are always amazing.
01:37 With surgery, why'd you do this to me, do this to me?
01:43 I feel like Asians have historically been so underrepresented in music,
01:47 so I think the way that the Asian community comes out and shows up for its Asian artists is amazing.
01:52 Plus, Ellinium will take the stage with David.
01:55 (music)
02:01 And tickets are still available.
02:03 And our fearless leader RM is back with solo music and delivers "Come Back to Me."

03:24 (speaking Korean)

04:31 (singing)
04:34 Stray Kids recruited Charlie Puth, and it has us breathless.
04:38 (singing)
04:44 Stray Kids keep making history, and they've got a lot of achievements to celebrate.
04:49 Hello, everyone. We are Stray Kids. Woo-hoo!
04:52 Stray Kids are back with a new collaboration with Charlie Puth called "Lose My Breath."
04:57 To celebrate, we're looking at their chart accomplishments.
05:00 This is Billboard Explains Stray Kids Chart Success.
05:03 Stray Kids made their U.S. Billboard chart debut with "Hellevator."
05:07 The song debuted on the World Digital Song Sales chart back in November 2017.
05:11 (singing)
05:18 "Hellevator" was the first of their 27 top 10s on the chart, with four number ones,
05:23 "Mix Tape 0" in 2021,
05:25 (singing)
05:31 and "Maniac," "Case 143," and "La La La La" all in 2023.
05:37 (singing)
05:44 "La La La La" was also the group's first Hot 100 hit, peaking at number 90.
05:49 Stray Kids have had big success on the Billboard 200.
05:52 All four of their charting projects have debuted at number one,
05:55 2022's "Ordinary" EP and "Maxident," and 2023's "5 Star" and "Rockstar."
06:01 The group is the first act to have their first four charting albums all reach number one
06:06 since Alicia Keys achieved that feat in 2007.
06:09 Over on the Billboard Global 200, Stray Kids have had seven songs make that chart,
06:14 with "La La La La La" reaching the highest peak, number 10, in 2023.
06:19 We can't wait to see where Stray Kids goes next on the Billboard chart.
06:23 Camila Cabello and Lil Nas X was the team-up we didn't know we needed.
06:27 (singing)
06:33 From the big screen to the stage, "The Wiz" is an iconic show,
06:36 and we sat down with the cast to talk about its return to Broadway.
06:40 It's bigger than all of us. It's really bigger than all of us.
06:44 It is a testament to what you can do when you display Black people and Black culture,
06:50 not as a monolith. We are all of it, and we are the origin of it.
06:56 And I think this show is the beginning of what you'll be seeing a lot more of on Broadway.
07:04 It's a true display of Black excellence in every form,
07:10 from the top tier of the creatives to every piece of the design,
07:15 to the thought that these guys took, and certain things that you may not even see.
07:22 That's what I love, is the world-building, to the proscenium, to the edge of it,
07:27 to what everything means, to what certain things in the costumes mean,
07:31 to what some of the choreography means. The fact that all that is built in, it's so rich.
07:37 I've not been part of something where--and I've been a part of some really cool things,
07:42 and we all have, but something that means something.
07:47 We're here because we're part of a moment. And it's so humbling.
07:52 For the full interview, check out Billboard's YouTube page.
07:56 That's the news for this week. Next week we're heading to Texas for country power players and the ACMs.
08:02 But let me leave you with one more song from our Friday Music Guide.
08:06 I learned not to skip the process. I learned that singing in a bus,
08:10 I should sing later in a bar, I should sing later in a club, later in an arena.
08:15 I learned a lot from my process, not to skip.
08:18 Ryan Castro comes out swinging with his debut album.
08:21 [music]
