00:00 Okay, we have time for just three more questions for Coach Day.
00:02 Over here to the right, Stephen Means, cleveland.com.
00:05 >> Ryan, given the teams you played the first two weeks,
00:07 you guys have all been emphasizing there wasn't a chance to get much of a pass rush.
00:11 First two weeks, maybe that was a little bit more presented today.
00:13 What did you like about what you saw from the defensive line?
00:16 >> Yeah, I thought there was a point where they really put their hands in the dirt and
00:21 started coming hard.
00:22 I thought they were into it.
00:24 I liked their competitiveness.
00:29 I think they're gonna watch it and see some things that they even can improve on.
00:33 He does get the ball out quick too.
00:34 He wasn't like he was hanging on to the ball a lot.
00:36 So the ball was coming out quick.
00:38 But there was a lot of things there to go on and a lot to learn from.
00:42 But just their overall attitude was really good.
00:44 I mean, they were into it.
00:46 They were, I felt them out there today, which is a good sign.
00:53 >> All right, to and done, Rob Aller, Columbus Dispatch.
00:55 Along those same lines, how do you deal with your DNs?
00:59 This guy got it out so fast as quarterback.
01:01 I don't think there are any sacks by the DEs.
01:04 I mean, are they getting down about that?
01:06 Or you just have to kind of keep them pretty buoyant?
01:08 Or like the dynamic of this game?
01:10 How does that play out?
01:11 >> No, you watch the film and you try to figure out what is real and what isn't.
01:15 But they're anxious.
01:17 They wanna get it more than anybody.
01:18 And what you can do is then abort your technique or anything like that.
01:24 You have to make sure that you're continuing to do what you do,
01:27 because it'll happen.
01:28 There'll be plenty of opportunities for that.
01:30 >> And final- >> And just that,
01:32 I think that there'll be a lot to learn from here, because we haven't really
01:37 played against a team that maybe throws as much as we've seen previously.
01:41 So we'll get on the film and figure it out.
01:43 But I think the week of work that they had will be important to replicate
01:47 this week going into Notre Dame.
01:50 >> And final question, Joey Kaufman, Columbus Dispatch.
01:52 >> Ryan, what kind of led to the strip sack?
01:55 What was kind of the issue underlying that?
01:57 >> Well, I think if we're watching on film, I gotta see it on film to be sure.
02:03 The safety is real low.
02:05 And I think that maybe Kyle didn't have a great feel for
02:08 the angle that maybe Marvin was coming out at.
02:11 And so didn't let it go.
02:13 And then once that happened, when you get to the second part of your read,
02:18 there's bodies down there.
02:20 Because I always say if number one's open and you don't get, throw it,
02:24 two and three won't be open because of the way the zones work.
02:28 And so we just gotta clean up just the angle,
02:31 because that was really what it came down to.
02:32 Marv kind of inside released and he didn't quite see the angle.
02:36 And then when the sack happened, we need to just third hand that and
02:40 protect it because we can still live with second and 15.
02:42 We can respond to that.
02:44 But obviously the fumble is something that we gotta learn from.
02:46 But again, I was just impressed with how he responded from that point on.
02:49 >> Great, coach, thank you very much.
02:51 >> Thanks, guys.
