02:00You boys with the rifles, while we go down and capture him.
02:27Oh, there he is now, looking away from something.
02:57What's up, Bates?
03:00Honey, Mr. Canfield, that stranger tore out Lee Weston and was pumping him.
03:04I took a shot at him like you told me, but hit Weston instead.
03:08You see, just as I fired...
03:09Now cut out the alibiing and tell me what happened.
03:11Well, uh...
03:19One shot fired. He did it all right.
03:22You know what we do with killers in this country, don't you?
03:24A killer?
03:26Well, if I'd have even winged the man I was after, I'm a better shot than I claim to be.
03:30Quit stalling. We know you killed Lee Weston.
03:33Killed Lee Weston? Well, I didn't...
03:36Don't try to deny it. You didn't kill him. What were you running away for?
03:40I wasn't running away. I was running after the man that did kill him.
03:45If you hadn't stopped me, I'd have caught him.
03:47Yeah, we heard that one before, too.
03:50All right, boys.
03:53All right. Get back to camp. Keep your mouth shut. We'll attend to this.
03:58Come on, boys.
04:14Anything to say?
04:16Plenty.
04:18I don't reckon that'd do much good.
04:20Well, what's going on here, boys?
04:22This number killed Lee Weston. We caught him red-handed.
04:25Well, but you can't do a thing like this.
04:26What else can we do? The country overruns with outlaws.
04:29Our cattle are being run off every day.
04:31Human lives mean nothing to them.
04:34Might as well make an example of somebody. The only way to stop it is right now.
04:38Yes, but this is mob violence.
04:40As a law-abiding citizen, I can't sit idly by and see you take the law into your own hands like this.
04:45Now, you better keep out of this, Mr. Canfield.
04:47We've got a lot of respect for you and Mr. Boyd, but we mean business.
04:51Okay.
04:53Get ready, boys.
04:55Just a minute.
04:58I reckon there is something I'd like to say.
05:00Well, say it quick.
05:02You fellas claim I killed Lee Weston.
05:06Seems to me you've been mighty careless about identifying the corpse.
05:11Look yonder.
05:16It's Lee Weston.
05:17Yeah.
05:19You boys are going to hurt somebody someday jumping to conclusions like this.
05:27You got the wrong man.
05:29You sure got here just in time, Miss Weston.
05:32This man didn't shoot me.
05:33Then who did?
05:34I don't know. The shot came from the bushes.
05:36Did you get a good look at the man you were chasing?
05:39Well, I saw him with his back.
05:41It's too bad he got away.
05:45All right, untie him.
05:51Well, I reckon there's no harm done except I've lost a good horse.
05:54It's all my fault.
05:55If you don't mind riding double as far as the ranch, we'll give you a horse.
06:26Oh, leave me alone.
06:27I'm not hurt that bad.
06:31I'll just see if he's all right.
06:33Oh, won't you come in?
06:35No, thanks. I'll just stay here.
07:05You see what happens when you try to lock a girl up in a barn?
07:09It looks like it wasn't the first time you've gotten rough with this truck.
07:12Not guilty.
07:13That was done by someone who stole it.
07:15They left before it was nearly burned up by a forest fire.
07:19Forest fire?
07:21When did that happen?
07:22About three months ago.
07:24Did you ever find out who stole it?
07:26No.
07:27If I had, I would have sent them a bill for repairs.
07:30Well, I reckon I'll be drifting off.
07:32Will you take Lee's horse or shall I catch up another?
07:34That's all right with me if your brother don't mind.
07:36Oh, he won't mind.
07:43I hope your mysterious friends don't get after me for stealing this horse.
08:08What were you telling that stranger?
08:10Why, nothing except about somebody stealing our truck that time.
08:15You risked all our necks today getting that brother of yours out of a mess he got himself into.
08:20Now, we're warning you.
08:21It mustn't happen again.
08:23It won't, Mr. Adams.
08:40Hello.
08:41Hello, boy.
08:43Hey, how does Mark Allen stand at the bank?
08:46Still owes us $3,000 on his mortgage.
08:49Why?
08:52I, uh, I understand that he's expecting a buyer.
08:55And he's got 1,500 head of cattle rounded up.
09:00Right.
09:01Yeah?
09:03Yeah.
09:05Tonight?
09:07All right, I'll take care of that.
09:17Sure wish you could talk, kid.
09:20Maybe you could tell me who fired the shot at me from this rock.
09:28Yeah.
09:30I will try him and see where he picked up his horse.
09:45Hiya.
09:46Broken horseshoe.
09:49Hiya.
09:50He sure left a broad trail behind him.
10:20You wait here.
10:21I'm going to have a look at that horse.
10:43I ain't aiming to let you make a target out of me twice.
10:53What do you mean?
10:54You know what I mean.
10:56And I'm here to find out why.
10:59Sure I took a shot at you.
11:01To keep you from killing me, you went.
11:03Yeah?
11:07Whoever that is, keep your mouth shut about me.
11:18Hello, Slim.
11:19What's up?
11:20We're riding tonight.
11:21Meeting at the fork beyond the creek.
11:23The fork's beyond the creek?
11:27What time?
11:29Right after sundown.
11:30We got a long way to go.
11:41Okay, Slim.
11:43I'll be there.
11:47See you later.
12:07I reckon your gang will ride without you tonight.
12:09No, they won't.
12:10Drop that gun, quick.
12:20Well, I reckon you got me.
12:36Stand clear, Bates.
12:44Great work, kid.
12:46I told you we wouldn't ride with your gang tonight.
12:50Get on your horses.
13:09Say, I reckon that'll hold you till I get back.
13:17No, son.
13:18You can't go.
13:20You stay here.
13:22Understand?
13:24I've got a bunch of these outlaws.
13:27Gonna lead me to the man that killed my brother.
13:53Where's Lee?
14:10He's riding with us.
14:12Why, he can't go.
14:14He's wounded.
14:15Sick.
14:16You know that.
14:17We need every man tonight.
14:18He's got to go.
14:19As long as he can stick on a horse.
14:22All right.
14:23I'll tell him.
14:28Lee?
14:29Lee, the riders are here.
14:40He's worse than I thought.
14:42The wound is brought on a fever.
14:43I'll have to get a doctor, quick.
14:45Well, maybe I...
14:46No, please, Mr. Adams.
14:49He'll cost him his life.
14:53All right.
15:19Is everybody here?
15:25Bates hasn't showed up yet.
15:27Slim ain't here either.
15:28I'll leave Weston's message.
15:30There comes one of them now.
15:39We can't wait any longer for Bates and Slim.
15:41We've got a big job on tonight at Mark Allen's ranch.
16:42Lee.
16:43Linda.
16:44What are you doing here?
16:45The Gelandes are riding.
16:46The Gelandes?
16:47You mean they know?
16:48Yes.
16:49They mean to wipe out this man.
16:50They're about to kill him.
16:51You must get away.
